She succeeded with talent AND she made it personal. Before she even began, she was looking at Simon to connect. He was a risk with his dislike for the song and she needed him to approve. When she finished, she again looked at him for approval. Then, at the end, when she sang, "I love you," she looked at her grandmother, and they connected. It was perfect.
Exactly... In my commentary I highlighted how she was joking then changed character to serious. If you look closely, when she does that she looked right at Simon and saw he wasn't laughing. Then she closed her eyes... Very good observation by you... Also, if you notice after the song, she is looking around kind of in disbelief at the audience.... Then she looks at Simon while he's standing up and starting to applaude. That is when she covered her face with her hands like "Oh my, I did it!"

You said ….How she moves that character … I think you omitted one thing. She couldn’t quite adapt to the roles she was auditioning for for 10 years. It was hard for her to audition for a part. On BGT she was playing the role of herself, far easier in a sense because she knew her better than any role she auditioned for. All of a sudden she says she has to go out there on BGT and she said she was full of fear because she had to be Sydnie. But you’re spot on how she transformed into three different Sydnies. She used the beginning interactions with the judges and the audience to shed those fears. She gives Simon the stare down before she closes her eye to transform into Sydnie the singer. Then she sings her heart out, getting more confident with every note. You did a great job with dissecting all this out in far more detail and it makes me even more proud of Sydnie. Exactly and that is a big message in the video from a money standpoint. When we boil it down we are all characters in this movie called life. Most of us are told what that character should be which makes us unhappy and we don't play the character well. However, when you determine what that character does, says, wears, etc... are true self comes out just like Sydnie and most of the time it just takes overcoming our fears to be able to be our own character. Based on my years of research, when people make this transformation the monetary reward follows because their joy in what they are doing shines through and people reward them for that.... Hopefully that made since....
