I have it, and in the summer it sucks when its too hot. Its laggy and keeps restarting. After a few mins with the AC on it stops lagging and restarting. But its no where as smooth as a real carplay headunit; very noticeable while using GPS. The audio quality is not too bad tho once you play with the amplifier settings.
Mine was working perfectly and no there’s randomly no sound? No idea what’s the issue. Everything else works and support hasn’t been helpful. I bought the most expensive Rockford fosgate one in July and it’s having issues by October….
Mine did not iriginally come with Rockford installed however I bought the radio that supports rockford becuase it has a dedicated subwoofer output, works flawlessly! To answer your question though, all you have to do is look under your seat, thats where the original Rockford amp is.
if you have the rockford + navigation touchscreen you are screwed, there is no car play radio available for less than $700 for this specific configuration, the wiring is completely different, than the standard rockford without touch screen
You can definitely get a sygav radio for no SSS cars, check out the links in the description and on their site look for non rockford models. My car is a non rockford model however I have a radio that supports rockford so i can control my aftermarket amp and sub through the radio.
