Hot take here, but I think there is so much pressure from the world to be or act a certain way when it comes to being a man. Chest out, don't be shy , be confident , take charge etc, that when you have someone like Syk who isn't that and has just as much success, it's inspiring that we think "Hey maybe there is a space for us anxious shy individuals". I believe this is why everyone adores it so much and only adds to the investment in his character development.
