I really don’t understand how they never got bigger...they are one of the few bands that I can lose myself in. They can really create a vibe and atmosphere in a song.
@@EakEmk I can play it lol. I started learning it a few months after beginning to play, probably not the best idea, but still. I'm just saying it's simple compared some of the other bands I listen to.
@@martinherrera7991 those are good but I think stuff like this is way sicker live, much prefer his performances in Sylosis or architects and think they’re better. Both a good live bands tho forsure but I don’t think anything he’s done with architects has raised the bar over his Sylosis work and shows.
The odds of one of you seeing this message is incredibly small, considering the video is a year old and you probably don’t read through every comment, but I’ve been listening to Sylosis for a couple years now. You guys are unmatched in both creativity and execution, and you have inspired myself and many others to learn how to do what you do. I’m an aspiring vocalist myself, and I have never heard another band besides you guys who mesh the vocals and music so beautifully. Please don’t ever stop
You couldnt be more right. Sylosis is something else that cannot even be labeled. Im so pissed reading people labeling them as metalcore. They've got everything in their music.
I discovered these guys when they opened for LoG in 2012, and they've been a favorite ever since! Edge of the Earth is one of the best metal albums ever created. I've found when it comes to Sylosis, people are either really about them or completely disinterested. I don't get the latter. I fucking love everything these guys have put out. I'll rock em til the day I die
They're put off by it because they dont like actual metal. I mean, I love Avenged Sevenfold and like stuff like Three Days Grace, but all it took was one listen of After Lifeless Years to get me hooked on Sylosis. I even bothered to learn the rhythm guitar for Teras and Blackened Skyline because holy fuck. Kids like to say they like metal but then listen to poppy metalcore because of hEaVy bReAkDoWnS
@@cooliusmaximus5802 Yeah, its too bad. Sylosis are criminally underrated. Props for learning Teras, that shit gets tricky towards the middle, with the sliding power chords, then that slow climb with the tremolo picking after. I never got that part perfectly down. I did get Eclipsed and Fear the World though, and those are a blast to play
@@frnaglfr5243 yeah, I cant even begin to fathom how he's able to keep the rhythm riffs going while singing. I mean, not like I learned the songs in a week. I was spending hours on end, per day, learning the individual riffs. Getting them up to speed and being able to try transition between each one smoothly. I believe we all know this, but ultimately, we can learn to play anything as long as we put the practice and hours in.
If people aren’t into Sylosis. They either aren’t a musician, or into shitty radio friendly rock like Avenge Sevenfold. Josh Middleton is so well balanced at writing catchy leads and rhythm guitar parts. That’s it’s like addictive drug, when listening to him play.
Had a few beers with them all at Josh's first live vocal gig in Middlesbrough as some weird courtyard gig, I was the only person there in a Sylosis shirt. Great guys, was discussing Death Magnetic and Metallica with Josh, Bailey's a legend and Rob (Drummer at the time) was just concerned if I could hear his kick drum. First saw them at Sonisphere 2009 with Jamie on vocals. Seen them many more times since.
For sure, one of the best tightest sounding and face melting metal band ever existed! This live version is even more brutal than the album one! Much love from Russia
Unfortunately, this recording was only a temporary offer and I missed it. I would buy the complete show from your website in an instant, if it was available for purchase again.
Man, this song sounds amazing played through the intended amp. Josh said he’d like to re-amp EotE and Monolith. I really hope he does, it sounds amazing here.
Saw you guys in Reading 2015 maybe, bought as much merch as I could afford because you are worth wearing and supporting. Unbelievable how so much talent is in the same band and remain modest and down to earth. Empyreal is an outrageous work of art and skill !
Everything about this performance is fucking perfect man holy shit. I can feel that kick drum in my BONES. Also, Josh is easily one of the most talented guitar players I've ever heard in my entire life. I'm so glad Sylosis is back so he can really shine as a lead player \m/
When I was looking for heavy bands that play in Standard E..that was how I discovered Sylosis. Didn't dedicate myself to practice to be able to play the songs though lol xD
Iv seen this band about 5 times. leeds, Sheffield, hull and 3 of those times i purposely went to see them as support and didn’t care about the main band. Been here since the beginning old singer etc but always preferred Josh. They’re super underrated and i have no idea why as i just get lost in their music, Josh grabs me with his riffs and vocals and sucks me in to some epic journey of pure flying high. he shreds and sings at the time and it blow my mind. infact we have a photo together. Man i cant wait for lockdown to finish and go see them again, melodic metal!
Long time sylosis fan, pretty sure every album is a timestamp in eras of my life but this song has always been one of those milestone songs along with a serpents tongue for some reason. Probably the train journey I took when somebody told me to turn my earphones down and I was like holy fuck are you serious pal.
Absolutely the most under rated metal band. Found out about these guys back in 2009. Every album kicks heads in. Only seen em once though with in flames and LoG.
