It's crazy how nowadays a movie that makes $165M at the box office is considered a flop.. People were/are sleep on Over the Top that was a great movie..
If you spend 10 millions for the movie and you get 10 millions in return, then it's a flop. In regards to OTT, you still don't understand what flop means, do you?
@@2dgamecity not only that but the studios only get half the box office totals. The theaters get the other half. Plus the budget usually doesn’t count marketing expenses.
Staying Alive? While Frank Stallone (Sly's brother) had a small part, Sylvester was not in Staying Alive. Over the Top is a classic and one of the best movies.
I always wondered if Kurt and Sly got along well. Would have been cool to see a sequel. They both have a ton of charisma. I enjoyed the film as well seeing it in the theater. Has Kurt done any of the Expendable movies? Seems a no brainer he should be on the Mt Rushmore with Sly, Arnold and Eastwood and Bruce
Stalone and his brother his father was escaped in Europe when started Vietnam war ! But he are made Vietnam war propaganda ! His mother also was escaped from Russia when started red revolution whell no she was not Russian she just was Russian-Jewish !
i watched all Rocky series, Rambo series, Expandable series, Over the top, escape plan Stallone's all movies are amazing am huge fan of Sylvester Stallone ❤
Oscar had a budget of 35 M.$. It made 23 M. $. A loss of 12 M. $A movie that doesn't gain a lot of profit is usually called a flop. The Term doesn't say anything about the quality of a movie.
Hits and Flops are based on ticket sales to budget, not individual opinion. If it cost $25 mil to make, then that means it needs to gross $50 mil just to break even after you consider the cut that goes to theaters and marketing.
He's for sure the best actor writer there's ever been some directors make a good movie but Stallone has inspired more people through his movies than anyone else including Arnie who would be a close 2nd for the movies he's been in. Just wish that Bruce Lee had lived to make so much movies he made martial arts mma what it is today if there was no Bruce Lee would martial arts ever have taken off like it did when his movies came out people were walking out of the cinema doing karate moves just like when people came out of Rocky everyone wanted to run and box tore there track suit bottoms and jumped over the nearest park bench lol I don't think the world will be the same without Sylvester Stallone.
The Godfather, Dracula, Frankenstein, Godzilla, James Bond 007, The Man With No Name series, Dirty Harry... ...just to name a few. Lol! Francis The Talking Mule, Herbie The Love Bug
In 1971, 25-year-old and poor Sylvester Stallone had to sell his dog Butkas for $40 to buy food. Five years later, after the huge success of Rocky (1976), he bought Butkas back for $15,000: "We were both hungry and lived in a house above the subway station. When things got worse, I had to sell him in front of a supermarket because I had no money to buy food. Then, like a miracle, the script of "Rocky" was sold and I was able to get him back, but the new owner knew the new situation very well and charged me fifteen thousand dollars." Butkas starred in two more Rocky movies before closing his eyes for good in 1981.
He wasn’t in the film Staying Alive either which starred John Travolta but was the director of film. Homefront Stallone was the writer and one of the producers.
Always entertaining always enjoyable to watch. 'Get Carter' should have been left alone the original was Mr Cain at his finest. Mr Stallone is a Great actor and writer, comes across as a really nice guy as well 💪👍
Rocky,Rambo& Expendables are hit for Sly Stallone but for directorial debut or long run directed by sly stallone (staying alive, over the top, fist, paradise alley are not so great ❤)

#10 is just called Victory. Also, would be interesting to see the aftermarket numbers on some of the earlier flops. Flops at the box office, but steady rentals over time.
Those $100 million to $300+ million, were before we even knew what a billion dollars even was. So overall Stallone is a massive money maker for Hollywood
