I worked for Sylvia Robinson at Sugarhill Records as a producer/engineer for almost 2 years. Ms.Rob was the real deal. What a multi talented woman! Rumors say that the character Cookie from the TV show Empire was derived from Sylvia Robinson. Ms. Rob was also a savvy business woman, but she also was compassionate. I helped her pick up Toys and gifts that she bought for kids in Englewood N.J. and the Bahamas. She did this every Christmas. God bless her soul. Gone but never forgotten and forever loved.
She wasn't a savvy business woman she was a blood-clat thief who ripped off young Blacx rappers with bad contracts that affects them right up to this day.😠
I sing it right now today and karaoke and I'm 58 and these young people they don't know nothing about this song they be like Superstar can you sing that again

Yeah it was a dope romantic song and I was only 8yrs old. But I had a connection with music early as a child. I remember I had to 5 or 6yrs old. I told my mom I loved "Bob Scaggs, Dirty Low Down. Remember the slick drum beat
Growing up in a lily-white town, and being 13 years old when this song came out, I didn't know what hit me. Wow! One of the greatest songs and singing performances of all time. Still sounds fantastic a half century later.
I really love this song. I was a little girl when this song came out. I love the sound of her voice. She sounds like she's whispering through the whole song.
Love this beautiful song reminds me of singing to my Guy ears about The Beautiful Love We have for each other 🙏🏿🧑🏾💝💗💎💎🌸🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🎉🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼. Rihp To The Beautiful Godmother of Hip/ Hop Music
Nossa! Qto tempo não ouvia essa música. Simplesmente maravilhosa! Esse som era de.mais! Eu era bem novinha, Entrando na adolescente. Tinha vergonha de ouvir alto e meu pai brigar comigo. Hj com outros cantando, mas jamais esquecida.
To this day, when I listen to song, I just melt. Not only is it one of the sexiest songs in history, but Sylvia absolutely nailed it. No one else can cover this song and come near the original.
Thank God you said that! I had 45 records of Pillow Talk and Sweet Stuff and those two songs were suggestive for their time, and radio jocks had to fade out the orgasmic sounds from both records. It wasn't until 1976 Donna Summer came along with the 10 minute long Love To Love You Baby adding her moans and groans thru the entire record, and once again radio jocks had to fade out the suggestive parts. But those songs were tame compared to the overtly sexual lyrics of so-called "love songs" now where u hear the f bomb , and d*** and p***y all thru the songs. Now, I never heard Sade do any suggestive sounds in any of her records and I had all of her albums. She has a naturally husky voice which could be mistaken for suggestive. The only two that did it as u said, was Sylvia Robinson and the Donna Summer.
She was never on Motown. This song has an Al Green grove to it. Al turned it down because of his religious leanings. 🙄. Ok Al. More like Memphis or even Philly.
I used to get so embarrassed when, as a 15 year old kid, the song would come on the radio while me and my mom where riding the car . I was looking for place to hide 😂
Why? Does this song seem so intriguing? It was a time when my aunt's and uncle were all together @ my grandmother's, (their mother), house. Beautiful times, family's were family!!! And all embraced those moments together.
Thank you... Never seen this live, honestly stumbled across this song about 6yrs ago. Instantly became one of my favorite old-school R&B songs. I go deep on that old-school though, dont get it twisted 😎
I was only a year old when this song came out but growing up in a household where Oldies but Goodies ruled I remember hearing it later as a little girl
I heard this beautiful song on Polish Radio. How I envied you in the West that you could not only hear but also see this artist. In our country, behind the "iron gate" there was no such possibility, even on TV.
If you don't know this song you not old school and you don't no anything about love if you don't know better ask somebody this slow song was banging 👌back in the "70"s you can't find pillow talk 🎵🎶 like this anymore maybe in the "80"or the "90"but otherwise never!!!
WHOA! SMOKIN' HOT! Many, many THANKS for sharing this! This recording blew me away back in the day. I recall my first l first visit to NYC in the late 1970's and finding two other of her albums in a huge Manhattan record store. Not available at the time in Canada, I was in HEAVEN! A fairy recent CD compilation is now out of print and her music NEEDS to become more widely available!
Maaan…just the overall idea and and her delivery plus the music production is 🔥💯🙌🏽 it transports me back to that time ..I can’t even imagine wut her generation was feelin when she dropped this 1 .. 🔥💯🙌🏽
I have always loooooved this song!!! I also believe in the sweet femininity of women .... so so sweet. This sweet sounding "come on with me baby" in such a sweet way is beyond a more beautiful way to bring your hubby or boyfriend to ..... where it needs to be. Love Sylvia and this song!!
Brings me back to the days of wabc radio, and hearing Ron Lundy introduce this song. I am a true romantic and I would definitely play this for a woman while having a candle light dinner.
Every time I heard this song, I remember by the time it ended, I was ready to roll over and light up a cigarette. She could sing better than most girls could . . . I'll let you fill in the blank. One of the all too many great talents the world has lost in recent years.
It was the one song that my dad said that if he buys it for me that my mom will yell at him. LOL I never forgot this. I looked at my dad and he pointed to me my very first album which he knew and remembered that I absolutely loved: Salsoul Orchestra's Magic Journey album and one other ... by Casablanca Records Cerrone's Supernature. Later in '74 or '75, I saved my allowances and got my Donna Summer's Love to Love You Baby album. ❤️❤️❤️💃🕺🔥❤️❤️❤️
