To me Sylvie is the greatest dancer I have ever seen or even imagined I could see. Beautiful, graceful, magical, beyond any words of description. Those who judge her as being too "technical" do not know what they are saying. She is the only dancer I have ever seen on the stage (or screen) who has made me cry in such parts as Manon, Juliet, Giselle, sleeping beauty, Marguerite etc.
During the 90's in the Royal Ballet lots of competition, you had Darcy,Slyvie and of course Viviana and maybe a few more I can't name, but the RB featured some great Prima's always well polished and sharp,my favorite company!
Superlativi.Bighin Giulio Renzo. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Technically incredible but i actually found their gestures too harsh. It looks pushed and punched, like they're fighting-great technically but not gentle or calm.
I'm sorry but if Cope's in the video, my eyes go straight to him. Guillem's great and all that but Jonathan has this kind of charm that shines through even videos of this quality! Too bad I never got the chance to see him perform :(
Jonathan is so careful of her. He treats her like the jewel she is. He steps aside and gives her all the space he knows she deserves. And it seems to me, it is as if he felt it's never enough. He said once, dancing with her was more intense. Because of Sylvie's ability to lift her legs so high and to jump so high too. (his words about the end in Manon).
Cope and Guillem are beautiful together. L) Her super high extensions -- especially 1:40-2:05 -- I did not really care for; it took away some of the magic of the PDD for me.
