I’m surprised anyone wanted to live in Sherman, IL after all those monster attacks. This was one of the few shows I’ve seen where mecha battles have actual consequences.
Oh boi then you'll love a anime call zambot 3, mobile suit gundam, shin getter robo and many other 80s mecha anime that follow the real robot formula that focus on the people than the robot and monster action
A hundred? Only a hundred? The average high-rise fits up to 10,000 people, and you see quite a number of those get obliterated by the fire monster in one of the opening clips. Going off of the utter destruction, the death count just through collateral damage alone is probably well over 80,000.
Holy crap, that actually slipped right by me when I first watched this back in 2010. The death count of this show was easily in the hundreds of thousands. I still loved it though!
Man I used to love this show I hate it ended. Even though Geddy is doing primal right now and I love and think it's his best show ever I do hope one day he gets back to this show and give it a proper ending.
@@raylenn4444 or who knows, maybe they can do something like final space, make a quickstarter campaing for create a spiritual successor of the series with other name and characters but with the same essence of the original one
Refresh my memory. Their planet was at war, and the ruler sends his daughter into hiding with their most advanced weapon systems. Upon being discovered she doesn't leave to hide elsewhere but remains. Despite being the reason everyone is in danger. Also, the villain wastes his time and resources on the Princess with the mega weapon, instead of the war. Did I remember that right?
I don’t know if they could really leave, since the King picked that planet for them specifically since it was so similar to Galaluna. But yeah they could have just stayed somewhere in the solar system. The villain on the other hand has a solid reason. He doesn’t have the resources to actually send the entire army through the wormhole so he sends individual war machines that are ordered to find and kill Ilanna. The war on Galaluna is pretty much over with small pockets of resistance, but if the people find out Ilana is still alive, it could lead to decades long rebellion. It means that Galaluna still has someone to lead them after the King dies. It means that there is hope. So Modulla MUST kill her, and he actually does learn and improve, with each monster attacking the three in different unique ways. It’s similar to the Kaiju from Pacific Rim and the precursors.
@amasing115 yeah no whether madula is right or not is debatable since on one hand he's already taken over the planet and it's military is definitely struggling to fight back and with what monsters he has on hand its unlikely they'll properly rise up even if they're encouraged, that said it doesn't make it any less inconvenient or annoying that their constantly fighting back instead of lying down and the princess being alive might actually result in a crusade and killing the entire royal family might be enough to end their will to fight (of course it could backfire and instead result in the creation of martyres)
I seriously missed this show On Cartoon Network, Toonami/Adult Swim, and Netflix. I hope they bring it back which I Miss so much. But I like the deaths with those explosions and destruction like the scenes in Samurai Jack. But I am sad that I could not watch this show anymore :(
I remember waiting with excitment for every episode I was so sad when they just cancelled it, this shit was gas when I was growing up, especialy the episode with little exploding monster, it was so sad it got stuck in my mind till today.
This show was, err, IS SO BEAUTIFUL! The premise was amazing, the design was Spectacular, and Action was Top Tier! I was Samurai Jack EXCITED when this show came out. And I LOVED Samurai Jack.
Idc if they’re the good guys but if a group of corrupted bad buys are trying to capture you/ kill you. Then lance and the rest have the right to kill them all.
Do they have the right to defend themselves? Absolutely. But _should_ they kill them all? No, I don't think so. That would create fear or hate among the people that they're trying to defend. Incapacitating them would be a better method.
Great vid, talk about alot of destruction. Part of which made this show awesome. Amazing how the city of Sherman endured being destroyed most of the time.
I completely forgot the raw brutality of this show. This feels like the kind of thing you would see in adult swim. And realistically, we probably witnessed the death of dozens of thousands.
And they really cancelled it because someone don't wanted to sell toys? They could literally made millions by selling action-figures of robots and monsters from this series. I think kids would be happy to have toy set based on this show and play some scenes from there.
As I remember, the problem with toys was the cause of the series because CN wasn't able to find anyone who could produce toys, aka action figures. And that's why they cancelled the show. In their mind, what's the point of the show, if you can't sell some products based on it? Plus, I guess, Symbiotic Titan wasn't so popular in comparison to other CN shows, like Ben 10, which means that the amount of viewers was too small in comparison to other shows, which also could become the reason to cancel the show. Why I'm thinking that? Because, to be honest, I never saw Symbiotic Titan when it was a new show. I acknowledged it's existence after some video review on RU-vid, when it was already cancelled. But I was watching cartoon shows on TV a lot, including CN shows and shows with giant robots. Why I haven't saw it in time - I don't know, maybe our television translated it at the time when some other my favourite shows was at another channels?
you know gendy made a really good classic style super robo show you can tell he really loved the genre I would absolutely love it if this and maybe megas would have a shot in an srw game but i imagine that would be impossible
Can’t believe this show didn’t get a second season is because there was no merchandise sold, or not enough sold. I did hear of a kickstarter campaign for a second season however
Watching this as a kid I never really realized how many soldiers they bodied throughout the run. Now I realized that General Steel was kind of justified in his hate for them.
I miss watching Symbionic Titan, I wish they continue making new seasons and episodes of the show. I remember the last episode I watched was when a mysterious person fixed Octus, who I suspect to be Lance’s father (somehow survived).
The way they just are casually erasing city blocks and the entire city is revamped in the next episode is hilarious, like do they have Dragon Balls on standby or something?
I've honestly really appreciated the reduction in censorship on cartoons over the past two decades. Want to display the terrifying destructive power of a monster? Go for it! Want to depict the horrors of war? Sure thing! Want to include openly queer characters? Absolutely.
CN: Hey Gendy, how are the action sequences? Gendy: I'm busy, comeback later CN: ok, just remember, if you are going to kill people, do it off screen. Gendy: on screen, got it.
this show in magus Xl which really is something special and way ahead of their time and will truly be missed I think both shows should have made their way to Adult Swim they probably never would have been canceled or at least so early I always thought that Gumball deserve to be an adult swim too that show is comedic gold
