UPDATE: We got some additional info via leakers since I filmed this video. Thanks Stefsot (I think it's him). Activate works in PLAY ORDER, so for example, you can do: Turn 6) Move Nocturne, Play Galactus, Activate Symb Spidey. They also can't be refreshed via Bounce. Peace.
@@joedoe7572 With the example of play Galactus, Activate Symb Spidey, it happens in the order you activate it relative to the play order. So if you activate after playing another card, it will activate after the other card reveals, and if you activate before playing a card, it will activate before the card reveals.
Idk how useful that’d be considering you play beta ray on 4, Jane on 5 and then stormbreaker on 6 unless you extend the game with magik or use psylock or zabu
Scorn is a bad combo with symbiote Spider-Man it will merge yes but the copy text becomes useless seeing it's in play and can't be discarded again or less you can bounce the card back into hand to discard it to use the ability which by that time game is over.😂
I'm not saying it isn't coping, because it sure is, BUT it's still going to be insanely fun. 1) Miek 2) Scorn 3) Magik 4) Symbiote Spider-Man 5) (Activate), Beast, Blade 6) Absorbing Man, Grandmaster 7) MODOK, Colleen Base bodies, 0(6+), 5, 2, 3, 4, 2, 4, 8 +8, +9, +10, +11, +12 And you could have Proxima in there, or new Hellcow (confirmed to be having Activate) probably makes things a bit easier too. Total power is 90+.
The fact that the “activate” effect can trigger after an on-reveal is wild, making SSM super busted imo. • T4: SSM, T5: Hobgoblin, T6: Galactus + SSM activate can result in an 11-power Galactus play. • T4: SSM, T5: Sandman, T6: Doctor Doom + SSM activate can spread 25 power across the board, even when you can only play one card. Especially with the Sandman deck proving to be very competitive, I believe this combo will definitely become a reality. • T4: SSM, T5: Iron Fist + a move card, T6: SSM activates, triggering Iron Fist + another move card, is also a very scary and easy combo. Maybe we’ll see the Move archetype become broken before Madame Web is released. Overall, I think clog card(Debrii, WhiteWidow) will become very important to stop SSM’s crazy combo in the next season.
I think Symbiote Spider-man will be a must have, he just opens up so much potential that a merging archetype might even show up. You now have him, hulkbuster, and Agony, and potentially even more cards in the future.
Honestly I'm conflicted with this card. One because as cool as he seems being a 4/6 limits him a lot. Four cost is stacked with a ton of great cards. As much as I hate to say it I definitely see him great in destroy
@@TranceVivi Thank you! I think he's niche because you could do Grand Master or Absorbing Man a little more easily than Symb if you only want to retrigger the ability (although he does have higher power). I hope he does better than I expect though.

Absolutely right, albeit not typically likely that Symbiote Spider-Man would be the lowest target at location, but you're correct that it would still disrupt your Symb plans.
I feel you CAN "activate" the same turn you play SYMBIOTE SPIDER-MAN otherwise, it feels clunky to me. You can just CHOSE when you can do it. Otherwise, they can't make 6 cost activates unless you have limbo or ramp it out or would feel useless when you play these cards on the final turn outside of stats. That makes the most sense from a design perspective to make this new keyword fun and exciting for players. In that respect, this will be an absolute SNAP for me. A perfect card that is a generic consistency tool, which SNAP could use ATM. But it won't be as applicable as kate bishop, who has set the gold standard for season passes going forward.
They've said in the in-game news article published today that you CANNOT Activate the same turn that you play the card. That was a deliberate design decision for reasons that they explain in detail in the article.
