@@thebigflyingninja5242 actually it was Gene Hoglan they gave him two hours to come up with each drum part for each song 2 hours per song. He even said so in his instructional dvd The Atomic Clock Stikes Two
Ninja, gene wrote the music, chuck gave gene full creative rights to the drums for IFP and Symbolic. Good job too, cause gene is an absolute boss, not bad for a non drummer!!!!!
There are a lot of truly talented metal bands out there, but I have not been as happy with any of them as I was listening to the newest Death album in my teen years. Their sound and style will never be sufficiently duplicated unless by exceptional bands playing covers of their songs. This is an awesome cover. I wasn't actually sure it was an entire band cover until I saw the names on the screen. lol. Great work, guys. I grew up in Altamonte Springs, where Chuck lived and died. I went to the same high school, just 2 years after Chuck left and went into music. My teen years were during the whole Florida death metal explosion, and I was fortunate enough to see them live at least a dozen times in tiny bars with several different lineups. Good times, man, good times. RIP Chuck and Sean. You are sorely missed, but your legacy lives on.
I'm insanely biased against Rudinger (I don't know why, you can totally hold that against me) so I'm tempted to say don't put Rudinger in the same sentence as Diepold. I know he's super talented, but Diepold's like the untouchable one in my head. Hell, the only drummer I could say that makes me question whether Diepold is a bigger of an insipiration than him is Gavin Harrison. Sure it's a completely different stack of skills, but I can't clearly distinguish which one I'd "leave it all behind" for... Dont know where I'm going with this but yeah, Vive David Diepold
Not at all, i mainly listen to the older stuff as well and i do deplore stuff like Deathcore and Goregrind and the like. But every once in a while you do find bands that are worthy of song :D
This is absolutely awesome! Now I can really see how hard it is to play the drums - especially, when it comes to playing fast music. This guy is a true genius.

Ok, some folks can't walk and chew gum at the same time...this dude here drums and chews gum at the same time. Nice drumming man. Not spot on with the actual song because you added your own flare to it. i'm a Death purist but am quite pleased with how you did this. Right on man, and that KIT!!!! OMG that's beasty. keep it up and ignore the haters.
Not only Death is going in history as a major influence band in metal, but Gene as well. Love how many musicians, both youngster and accomplished ones such as Priester, pay respect to the mighty Hoglan, and to a classic album like Symbolic.
HOLY SHIT. I love this song, but it's hard to understand how demanding it is until watching Aquiles play it. And actually looked at ease despite the ridiculous speeds and combinations involved. Outstanding performance. And man, that snare sounds so powerful!
Maybe so but in all fairness back in the 80s with Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets he introduced a melodic aggressive way of playing the drums. What he may lack in technique by today's standards he co-wrote the songs with the drums.
@@sandrogattodrummer5021 Well, do you know that he only have a few days to learn and pratice those DT songs he have never heard before? And he do that while he was on clinic tour, so it's extremely difficult.

Chuck Shuldiner, Gene Hoglan, Koelbe,... created the best Death album of all. Symbolic is the most perfect masterpiece of metal. Great rendition Aquiles Priester. Yoy are amazingly good. I would love to see more covers of Death. Zero Tolerance, 1000 eyes, Without Judgement,... Obrigado. Saludos desde España.

Amazing kit, amazing cover, great snare tone, great kick tone, overall great mix on the drums, and great audio mix altogether. Props on the drum cover, it was a great performance, alot to keep together in one take, Gene Hogland is just a wonderful technical drummer. Props to you and whoever did the vocals and guitar as well.
