I was not raised with any religious influence. I believe in god and have been reading in an effort to understand the Catholic faith. As a newcomer I have to say specific advice is helpful . I often feel like Catholics speak in code such as using allegory. For example; What is the difference between an 8 year olds prayer and an adults? I honestly have no idea. Thank you.

One of the best methods of prayer I ever learned was from the Islamic Sufis, who taught me to place my awareness on the heart and imagine that the heart is chanting (beating) the name of God, i.e. Je-sus, Je-sus.

A SPIRIT - who is the Father - is there with Jesus ("God is a spirit"). "HOLY" is the name given by Jesus to that "SPIRIT", in order to be able to identify Him. That "Spirit" would have no name otherwise! Only that ONE SPIRIT (the Father) is there, NO FURTHER SPIRIT IS WITH JESUS! "Father" (who is a spirit) and "Holy Spirit" are thus just two EQUIVALENT names. If you wish you can replace the name "Holy Spirit" by "Father" wherever it occurs in the gospels (not in the baptismal formula, for another reason).

@po18guy 1. The four gospels definitely disclose ONLY ONE "Father - Son" relatioship. As concerns the Trinity, the most qualified Person to give information is Jesus who dozens of times reiterates to be ONLY WITH THE FATHER! Jesus is NEVER with TWO divine Persons, nor a SECOND relationship with an alleged third divine person of a trinity exists. Thus there is no doubt that neither a THIRD divine person, nor a trinity exists. 2. Jesus sometimes even EXPLICITLY states to be only with the Father: "I am not ALONE because the Father is with me" i.e. just Father and Son. 3. Jesus states that the Father is a spirit "God is a spirit" (Jn. 4:23,24) 4. Thus Jesus is ONLY with the FATHER WHO IS A SPIRIT. 5. This means that only TWO blasphemies exist: either 1. against the Son or 2. against the "Father who is a spirit" 6. Those TWO blasphemies were discussed by Jesus: blasphemy against the "Father who is a spirit" (called "Holy Spirit" by Jesus") will not forgiven, neither in this world, nor in the future world. 7. To recap, ONLY ONE (divine) SPIRIT exists: He is the Father.

Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Turn away from your sinful ways and seek our Heavenly Father Yah for help. Ask him to send his son Yashua to be your guide and the lamp underneath your feet. Keep Yah’s Holy commandments including observing his holy Sabbath on the 7th day which is on Saturday. Seek to be sanctified and holy for he is holy. Whatever you shall ask you shall receive as long as you are walking in his statues. The 10 Commandments 1. You shall have no other gods before Me. 2. You shall not make idols. 3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain. 4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 5. Honor your father and your mother. 6. You shall not murder. 7. You shall not commit adultery. 8. You shall not steal. 9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. 10. You shall not covet. Praying to saints and statues is breaking the first two commandments. Observing Sunday as the Sabbath is breaking the 4th commandment.

If it’s a cult then the apostles themselves participated in it 😅. Jesus Christ established one church not thousands of different Christian church’s with all different interpretations. Cult is far from what Catholicism is when you actually search early church Christian’s and when you encounter and experience Christs Divine goodness in all of the sacraments of the Catholic Church. No person can explain the Eucharist (Holy communion becoming the real flesh of Jesus Christ) not only does it happen at every mass but it literally miraculously becomes human flesh and is always unexplainable from scientists. Every Eucharistic miracle of the Eucharist becoming His Flesh, always matches to Jesus Christ.

I would advise you to search Eucharistic miracles by Carlo Acutis and try to explain it to us. Jesus wants you to be in full communion with Him now in this special way. In John 6 Jesus explained it 5 different times that HIS flesh was TRUE food and blood TRUE drink. This is the ONLY teaching that the disciples left Him for because they didn’t believe that He could make Bread His flesh for Us to eat (JOHN 6:52). Why would the disciplines question If this bread actually became His body if it truly didn’t become His body??? And why would the disciples leave Jesus for this teaching except His apostles?? If anyone asked me why I’m Catholic I’ll tell them right away THE EUCHARIST. It was made for me and you. We worship CHRIST in the Eucharist in which HE himself taught and was the what every Catholic Christian believed up until the Protestant reformation (1500s).

Reasons I do not follow Catholicism. Why do Catholics believe a priest can take away sins? Hebrews 10 KJV 10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; Why do Catholics believe Peter is the rock? Deuteronomy 32 KJV 4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. 1 Corinthians 10 KJV 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. Revelation 17 KJV 4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: Cardinals are arrayed in purple and Scarlet just like women. ✅ Cardinals are decked in gold and precious stones. ✅ The pope has a golden cup in his hand. ✅ Revelation 17 KJV 9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. Vatican and Rome are on seven mountains. Vatican City is a great city that definitely reigns over the kings of this earth. 1 Timothy 4:1-5 NKJV [1] Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, [2] speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, [3] forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. [4] For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; [5] for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. The Catholic Church is an apostate body that was manifested even during the days of the disciples for they are the Gnostics and the ones that did not agree with the apostles teachings and therefore took it upon themselves to split off. They are even mentioned by Timothy, John and Paul. 1 John 2:19 NKJV [19] They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us. The Catholic Church is the embodiment of a parallel sect of apostate believers who corrupted the teachings of Jesus by warping its foundation to what you see today. The first 600 years was the ancient church. A time of gospel being preached boldly. Over the next 900 years you have the medieval church where scripture is hidden. Then you have the reformation church where scripture is restored. And today we have the modern church where scripture is being blatantly ignored by Catholicism and the prosperity gospel’s for personal gain and tradition. Revelation 18:4-8 NKJV [4] And I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. [5] For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. [6] Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her. [7] In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, 'I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.' [8] Therefore her plagues will come in one day-death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her.
