In this video, I take you along on a boat excursion around the island of Symi. It makes a loop around the entire island stopping in 5 locations for swimming and one includes an excellent BBQ lunch.

We did the Poseidon boat tour once in 2018 and twice in 2019. None of the three excursions were identical for stops. Best value for money ever. The Captain and his son are awesome. The swimming and the lunch, my God. We used their dock neighbour to the right (Symi Taxi Boat) exclusively for getting to the beaches. Lovely people. As soon as this bad dream is over, I'm going to Symi for the whole summer. Screw it. Life is short.

A whole summer on Symi would be awesome! I hope that comes soon for you. I don’t know any other boat excursion (anywhere) could top what they do on Poseidon. As you said; people, stops, food, and value are all excellent, and the fact they mix it up is all the better! Definitely something I want to again.

The grin on your face says it all.A trip around the island on Yannis boat the Posidion is a must when on Symi,we'll be doing it again when we return.So glad you enjoyed it.

I lived on Symi for three months 40 years ago. I have to assume that the largest income to the island is now tourism, and that makes me wonder how its people survive during the winter. Perhaps the Greek government or Symi Greeks living on the mainland provide financial support (they have holiday or family homes during August, the annual holiday period). Perhaps also the young find work elsewhere in the world, as happens on other islands, and feed that money back to their families there. Hopefully, someone here can inform me. As I see here, Symi is still an exquisite island, whatever the present commercialism, and note with great amazement the room above the ζαχαροπλαστείο, the cake shop, where I stayed all those years ago! Yes you should do Kos. You have hot springs, Roman ruins, birth place of modern medicine, bubble beach the list goes on and on

Yeah, it seems to have a lot to offer. The Greek islands are so awesome I definitely want to keep going back. So much to see, incredible history, great people, fantastic food...

Symi is beautiful. We sailed in there a couple of years ago and actually saw my first real Greek plate smashing in one of the Tavernas near the monument you filmed near. Gets very busy lots of boats come in , great photo opportunities with the multi coloured houses running up the hill side. Found it slightly more expensive to eat and shop but when you look at the views etc it’s to be expected. Very popular with visitors pre COVID gets very hot too. Definitely would go back again.Rick Stein the English chef cooked for his series up the hill at a Taverna over looking the harbour

It’s a place I’d like to go back to when this is all over, but probably not in the peak of summer. Did you watch the video where I wandered around the crumbling buildings up on the hill? There’s so much to this little island I understand why it normally gets packed. There were some amazing boats that came in while I was there too.

Yes I did. I’m finding them really good and brings back memories from our visits. Have you been to Kos? We got married there in 2016 and god willing return in September as well as Kefalonia in August. A must see island.

Very cool, thanks, and I’m glad you enjoyed them! I was on Kos but for a shorter stay so didn't make any videos while there. It's one I’ll be trying to get back to. I'm sure the experience will be a bit different without the restrictions that were in place this summer.

Thanks, I was shooting mainly with the GoPro hero 8 here (maybe a couple of shots were also with an iPhone XS). Symi is a beautiful island, I hope to get back there sometime to explore it more. Thanks for letting me know about the links. I fixed the Facebook one. The other one worked for me, but it was quite slow to load and the page didn’t show much of anything until I scrolled down a little. It looks like they are operating.
