A lot did complain about her unfortunately. Aside from like the usual, many watching pro league got super pissed at mauga's incidental synergy with giving sym's buffed beam drain with overdrive like Lev said in video. We aren't allowed to thrive

So let me get this straight, everyone is fine with Sojourn being able to beam down anyone with minimal skill but Sym gets needed buffs since her Damage takes time to charge up at a CLOSE RANGE but now we gotta nerf here? Please.
My brother in Christ, you had to melee the turrets TWICE before they broke. Do you understand how stupid that is? Lucio had to shoot each turret with THREE bullets. 50 health was just terrible. Be thankful that you got to keep the tele health, turret damage, AND the turret wall hacks.
Her base damage is the issue at the moment, it is too slow for the pace of the game and as I mentioned, other heroes get so much easier value than her and I know DAMN well you aren't complaining about turret wall hacks cause if you are you truly are out of it. @@NamirasBasement
@@funkycrawler619 the turret walls are great, I feel the turrets should be focus on utility rather than damage. But still be glad you didn’t lose it after the initial buffs.
The moment Symm gets buffed we see a lot more Rein and ball players and a ton less D.va and Horse players. D.va’s defensive matrix is useless again sym because syms beam isn’t a projectile, it’s the same with horse, yes her spear isn’t her only defensive but her other defensive is also useless because of syms beam ramp up.
The turret change made some sense (since they can be meleed again), but the whole point is to annoy ppl and put the enemies into a multi task situation, so making them so easily dealable makes little sense. The beam change however made NO sense though
Still have the increased TP health and shorter cooldown. Still have the increased turret damage. Turrets still have 10 health more than they did before. Try again next time buckaroo.
@@NamirasBasement still one of the worst dps in the game. Tp hp because everything got a hp buff. The turret damage increase is to compensate for the huge hp increase (doesn’t make up for it but that makes sense). She’s still wayy weaker than she used to be. She needs to be alive to charge her beam, now she can’t use her hit box to help with that and she doesn’t have enough hp either. The hp increase ruined her range damage breakpoint as well.
I’d love to interview devs and get them to admit on camera that they just don’t know what to do with Symmetra. They’ve changed her like 20x, also she’s an OG character and yet she’s gotten no story development. Embarrassing.

Or when Jeff said they have animated shorts lined up and it’s clear that they didn’t because not much has come out. If we can’t get story from Symmetra expecting much from Baptiste and Mauga is probably not much of a good idea. I want to hear it from them tho. Jesus Christ you’re so triggered I paid for a game and supported it I can ask for an interview just like streamers who aren’t good interviewers get to ask for them.

No cause why is no one talking about much more lethal Tracer is with the DPS passive. Like she is one of the few heroes who can consistently capitalize on it.
Supports aren't allowed to not be healers due to r e a s o n s so sadly Symmetra, Mei and Sombra have to be DPS even though that is clearly not how their design works.

This is the result when a game designer doesn’t have beta testers he doesn’t know what he changes is making the results so he can only change again all he changed to make a difference.
The devs clearly don’t know who symm is and what they want to do with her. Is she a tank-busting frontline bruiser? Then why is her HP so low with no front line survivability? Is she an orb spamming ranged goddess? Then why did they take away her 2 shot? How do turrets and the teleporter fit into these play styles cohesively? Why does everything she do take so long? OUR GWORL NEEDS HELP
1. Imagine dealing with a higher health Sym that already heals themselves on attacking a shield and has some of the most guaranteed damage in the game. 2. She does have front line survivability in the form of self heal on attacking a shield. That’s all she gets because front line direct power is not her job. She acts as sort of an enabler (similarly to Lucio) and as area denial (similarly to Mei). If someone over stays their welcome, then they instantly die to the Sym and her turrets, (which is why they didn’t revert the damage buff to the turrets.) 3. Her two shot was taken as result of universal changes, and tbh unless they were shooting someone off by themselves, a single bit of healing would save them from the two shot anyways. Characters like Hanzo, junkrat, and Kiriko were hit way worse than Sym was by these changes. Syms kit overall just isnt meant to be working on her own doing everything herself. Giving her too much power would make her too strong for such an easy character.
The second Symm is "meta" they drag her with nerfs. I'm still irritated about how they nerfed her in the rise of double shield because she was a great shieldbuster
Let’s face it, there are characters that simply shouldn’t be meta without make certain OTHER characters completely unplayable. Due to their ease of access. Examples: Torb: tracer, genji, Lucio, and a good amount of tanks are unplayable. Rein: if Rein was meta at the highest level, he would be unstoppable anywhere else due to his ease of use. Picking any other tank would be about as suicide as picking rein into bastion-zen, without a Lucio on your team. Mercy: same reason as rein Moira: is just annoying Pharah: if the enemy team has a pharah, then both dps must go hitscan or they lose. Sym shuts down every movement character with little technical requirement. Some characters are specifically meant to be simple and easy, and those characters generally shouldn’t be meta, because it would simply be frustrating for both players.
the sentry turret is still buffed from the march 12th patch, that patch had the health go from 30->50 so 40hp is still higher than what it used to be. Not that it affects many shots-to-kill points.

At 40 hp it effects soldier along with many others: soldier 2->3 shots sombra 4->5 shots lifeweaver 3->4 shots orisa 3->4 shots rammatra 6->8 shots sojourn 4->5 shots tracer 3->4 shots shotguns will probably feel it the most especially with falloff. dva 15->20 pellets junker queen 4->5 pellets reaper 6->8 pellets echo 2->3 pellets and this doesn't account falloff. once falloff begins the turrets will also last several shots longer.
i can understand the turrtet hp nerf but her beam was literally buffed to compensate for the season 9 changes no??? like i genuinely do not understand how this “meta” for a week caused her to get nerfed that badly when characters like lucio and tracer havent even been touched…
You forget that tracer didn’t get touched outside of universal changes. And Lucio did get nerfed. Funny how a Sym main, one of Lucio’s hardest counters is complaining about Lucio.
Little reminder if you play all quee, just play Zaria, since she is doing more damage than Symm (again after the revert [190 max for Zaria after first season 9 small patch], funny how DPS does less damage than TANK), you have more HP, you can save yours teammates with bubbles, and turrets are as poopy as they were in season 8 since everyone got HP buffs and they gave them only 5 damage more per turret, maybe if her pickratre gonna dipp even more, maybe than we gonna get 195 max back, or at least 50 HP more, -25 Shield. Or just play Mei if you only play DPS. #DontPlaySymmLetHerDipp !!Peaceful Symmetra mains protest!!
Why does Moira’s primarily do more damage than Symmetra’s primary? It’s only useful when it is charged and ramped up. I much prefer Mei’s primary fire damage because it’s consistent.
I said it 100 times and I'll keep saying it. Overwatch Devs just aren't good at their job and I'm not saying this out of hate. They can't blame Bobby anymore for the nonsense that's been happening. reverting these heroes means that they don't know their game and have no idea where to go with them.
@@NamirasBasement So you're telling me that I have to be a professional to know that releasing a character like Mauga who has NEVER been balanced and had to be nerfed to be almost unusable (remember the characters are the headliners of each season and they cost time or MONEY to get) for the sake of the game and the first buff they got since being nerf was reverted is a sign of a lack of skill? How about Sym who has been the worst character in the game for a while and the first meaningful buff they got . . . were mostly taken away? Reinhardt took HOW LONG to get a buff? I'm not calling them bad people, but as a programmer, I know that every field has wonderful people who get a job, and because of the horrible hours and how they are treated they treat it as a 9-5 and just stop progressing skill-wise which hurts as time goes on and tech changes. That's one of the BIGGEST reasons we're getting games that take 5-10 years to be made just to come out subpar and half-broken. Oh, the reason I don't apply (I know you said this to be sassy which is fine) is because I make far more where I currently am.
WOW symmetra was being played for her SUPPORT utility and her SUPPORT ultimate. Its almost like there is a part of this character that really shines in her identity and a rework or maybe even a role swap with a rework for the character would benefit her.
No way, she was always unappreciated as a support no matter how well she was doing - I don't miss always being flamed before the game even starts just for picking her. Love her as DPS, kill counts don't lie so nobody can talk when you're doing well on her. A non-healing support never gets their due even when they are the one making big plays.
My brother in Christ. Of course tracer can walk around more than Sym. She’s a movement based character. (that sym counters btw.) But also, if you want to know where the tracer nerfs are… Where were the tracer buffs? She didn’t get any. Just take the buffs you’ve got and run while you can before they snatch those too.
It's really sad that Blizzard shut down Overwatch back in 2019, since it was such a great game that will tragically never receive a sequel. I know that didn't happen but if it had we'd be better off.

Devs when Tracer, Soldier, Sojourn, etc. are meta for almost the entirety of their existences: "This is fine." Devs when Symmetra is barely viable for, quite literally, one week (and mostly due to the strength of another character): "OH GOD! SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING!"
I just want a 4th turret, faster travel speed on the turrets, faster activating TP so she can escape way more quickly and 25 more shield. id be okay NOT getting a beam damage buff but instead 3 - 5m of extra length would be amazing. I wish they liked Sym as much as they love Orisa. I would love to just keep getting nothing but buffs for the last few patches.
Sym is (and always has been) a very map dependent character. Not going to say give up of Sym, but try to learn the maps where Sym is insane, and try to have another dps in the back in case the map doesn’t favor you. Example: she is strong on king of the hill maps, and especially on Lijang Tower where she is essentially a must pick, because of TP stunts, but is generally weak on payload maps, but will still put in work on payload maps with high grounds (Dorado, Numbani, Gibraltar, Havana especially)

Honestly sym is just one of those heroes that the majority of the community doesn’t like playing against, not to say she deserved to be nerfed (except the turret health those should be one shot with melee) it makes sense why blizz doesn’t want her in a position where she will appear in a lot of games

Its so funny cuz when people are playing against Symmetra, they say she's broken. But when they have a Sym on their team, they say she's thrash. Like cmon
Or, a niche character can just stay niche and we don't micro-buff her until she is broken. A niche character should have a low win% as not everyone should be viable 100% of the time. And if Mauga went out we would just see Orisa in with no other changes.
