I love your video teachings! Best I have found related to medicine. If I keep watching I could become a Dr. I just started watching over the past week and related to Coronavirus and I must have watched at least 25-30 of your videos. Never boring, very informative and well communicated!
I like your way of explaining, surely slowly, that helps to understand and take notes in one play of the video, and play again two times to master the subject Well constructed, well chained ideas ❤
Thank you professor Campbell! I must say that your lecture is profoundly excellent ! It explains simple and uncluttered. It is easy to follow and understand ; surely this is the best lecture I have come across so far I do learn well from the way you organize the lesson and explain each organ and and how they are affected by each of the two systems Thank you I subscribed
Thanks my lovely Dr John 💟 Just I have to mention that 12:00 under sympathetic stimulation of liver : leads to activate glycogenolysis NOT Gluconeolysis .
i have a problem in identifying the cranial nerve route that extend towards the organs if they go directly from the brain or take the spinal region to reach their destination in sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system .
But this is INCORRECT (ca. 5 to 7 minutes).... respiration RATE and DEPTH are NOT controlled or regulated by the sympathetic (autonomic) nervous system. Rate and depth of respiration are aspects of the mechanical function of the lungs and thorax - controlled by the SOMATIC nervous system... the phrenic nerves that innervate and control the diaphragm, and the intercostal nerves that innervate and control the intercostal muscles (the diaphragm & intercostals are striated/skeletal muscles). The mechanics of respiration, both automatic and voluntary, and under SOMATIC control NOT autonomic. Autonomics ONLY influence airway diameter via airway smooth muscle... parasympathetic vagal innervation --> bronchoconstriction; epinephrine (aka adrenaline; from the adrenals) --> beta-2 --> bronchodilation; the sympathetic innervation has little effect on bronchial smooth muscle because NE (aka noradrenaline) from sympathetic terminals has little effect on beta-2 receptors).
Thank you.. "The powers of the sympathetic nerve are neither entirely physical nor spiritual, but are between the two (systems). The nerve is connected with both. Its phenomena shall be perfect when its spiritual and physical relations are normal." ~ Baha'i Faith
