So wonderful to hear this for the 1st time. A really delightful piece that grabs the attention at every turn....although we recognize this late romantic language (many places in the 1st movement bring Tckaikovsky's 4th symphony to mind) and the forms of the baroque era, there is something quite fresh in Busoni's imagination that makes this sing. Well worth hearing.
An interesting and entertaining mixture of styles from the young Busoni. There are a few hints of his later compositions heard amid this amalgam. Very well performed and recorded, too. Thanks, as always.
