A must buy, especially if like me you have a few Ibanez Steve Vai Jem guitars to play throught this great preamp. Problem is that i will never sound as good as Jonathan. Thanks for a great review Jonathan.
I actually have a Carvin Legacy VL100 half stack. I like that these basically can add two channels to an existing amp and you can go direct as well. I would be very interested in this and getting the Friedman module to start.
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Right, so the Syn-1 rack has a power amp in it though? Thats mainly what I was wondering. I know the modules are just preamps, but the Syn-1 Rack I just wasn't sure. Also the website doesnt make it to clear. Thanks!

In a world with the Bossgt1000 core or a HXStomp in it, that you can put in your gig bag, I mean what is the point in taking that anywhere? It is still valves, they are still delicate, inconsistent, stupid expensive, dependent on consistent power at the venue, heavy. There is no real world application for this, that cannot be achieved far far more cheaply and consistently. So unless you are a Steve Vai fanboy and want to make him even more wealthy, and give him enough cash so as to never have to write an album again, what is the point?
I don’t get why are you so upset about it.. products like this will always have a place with someone other than you and me. I myself tour with the Line 6 Helix. To each his own .. ✌️❤️
@@JonIsJustTooLoud yeah, I am not angry am a massive Steve vai fan, but would rather he make albums, than make most of his revenue off endoresnents, particularly for super expensive yester'year technology that does little to progress the art of the Electric Guitar, but tries to hold the recent super advances in guitar technology back. I bought a Ibanez Jem from 1989 and it still looks and plays like a guitar from the future, 32 years later. No one is going to be playing this synergy amp in 3 years, not even Steve (if he even is now). There is no use case for it, it is just a cheap money grab, that has no real world practical or sane applications or advantages over modern stuff. From its weight, versatility, cost, affordability, consistency, robustness, even sound.. it loses badly.
@@mixodorians12 yes I agree.. but like I said.. some folks are into these sort of things.. there are modules other than this one from Steve Vai.. more for purists who just prefers tube stuff.
