On the menu today, another exploration of the "round robin" concept, this time made mostly with synthesizer sampling in mind, with the Polyend Tracker & Medusa.
PS: It is important to note that I fast forwarded some of the edit part to make the video less boring to watch. Also at the moment if you use a mono cable for the Line In you will hear the signal only on one side when using the "Line In Monitoring", tho it will be sumed to mono when sampling anyway.

Another entertaining and informative video. Polyend should just put you on the payroll at this point.

I love the way Renoise implements round robin/cycling, maybe the Tracker will do something similar someday with destructively rendering slices and then the slices are in one container of sorts.

Thanks a lot for sharing! I was always wondering about the best way to integrate external synth voices into the Tracker. So far, my primary workflow is to program MIDI notes on the Tracker, then sampling the phrase / melody into the Tracker by playing back the pattern during record. Afterwards I'd put the sample on step 1 as a one-shot, playing throughout the whole pattern. But basically, that results in 5-20 second long samples for each audio stem, so one would run out of sample memory quite soon when working on multiple patterns. Additionally, many of the step FX and Perform FX won't work as expected / intended when working with long one-shot samples... Long story short, I'll really try to adopt your workflow more often

The polyphonic samples (track 3) are a very low on sound. Maybe you should 'normalize' them first, just like you did with the other samples. But, I like the video. Always helpful!

Not even trying to properly mix those elements here to be honest, it’s more about the idea than the results ;-)

Very interesting! Thank you for that. Would it be possible that you make a tutorial about how to work creative with a music loop in the style of squarepusher or aphex twin, and how you work with a simple melody loop to make interesting about our breakbeats. Thank you for your music and tutorials! Bye Spleenex

very interesting thank you.. one question, where is the noise is coming from? When you are not playing anything there is a noise like ground or something...

You're right I noticed it when I shot another video with almost the same setup yesterday. It's probable a power adapter that put some dirt in the signal, I usualy don't get any noise from those machine in my studio configuration, but my little video corner is less well equiped electricity wize.
