Synthesis Has A Mind-Blowing Glitch The Other Endings Don’t… 

Perhaps it's more of a visual metaphor? Synthesis is somewhat of a compromise between the other options, and the colors are simply a visual metaphor for that?

As much as I want to think deeper about this, i think this is just a case of them using Chromatic Abbreviation as FX to make the scene more unique. These glitches are not 'The Glitch' but multiple instances of FX that are totally different in nature but are still considered visual glitches. The chromatic abbreviation would make sense in a way as its colors and their wavelengths (in world) are being divided and potentially brought together in the process of synthesis? Yeah i think this is reaching sadly. Cool find though!

The "RGB Glitches" is called Chromatic Aberration, and it's just an effect. There is no deep meaning on this. Synthesis means we'll be robots essentially (as even the eyes become synthetic in the videos). Every lens (glass) innately has chromatic aberration as it breaks light. Synthetic eyes will have chromatic aberration. Even this is stretching it IMO. Pretty certain the video editor just went "ROBOTS RGB LMAO".

OK playing mass effect last night and went up to cockpit to talk to joker and then Eidi she basically said she was thinking about parallel universe basically she said if u could keep travelling through the universe soild u eventually come across a point where 2+2=3 obviously a throw away line but just thought it was funny what she said when she asked Shepard what he was thinking of he said ill get back to u on that

it doesn't just say "anomaly reading all across space", it says "anomaly readings all across [PAUSE] space" where the pause is an indicator of some word that indicates the specific area of the galaxy, like the Terminus Systems, the Geth space, or the Alliance space, where the latter is more likely because the crucible was being built in the Alliance space, so it likely says "anomaly readings all across [the Alliance] space"

Organics interpretation of colours come from cones in the eye that fires when a specific light frequency range hits it. So colour is what humans assign as a term for a specific frequency of light (electromagnetic waves.) And for humans, we can only see a very narrow range in the Electromagnetic (EM) spectrum. In QM, Quarks are way smaller than the wavelength of EM wave (of RGB light.) The so called colours & spins are just terms used by Physicists to simply call some of these "physical" properties of the particles in the Standard Model. A green quark doesn't actually emit or absorb green light. An electron doesn't actually spin at all. So this means that when light passes through a field made entirely of quarks, the light wave and photons are not affected at all and so cannot produce the RGB optical aberration seen. Of course, Mass Effect is Scifi so it can definitely happen in fiction but it's not something that can happen IRL based on my interpretation of the QM Standard model of particles.

Just to add gasoline to the fire, we know that the Reapers designed civilizations to speed up the cycles for harvesting intelligent life - what if the Crucible was designed by another species to get rid of the Reaper competition in order to boost this new, mysterious (Jardaan?) group. In other words, the anomalies were intentional in order to seed a galaxy for this other groups future pacification - eliminating one MetaAlpha predator to allow another to take over.

Never noticed that before but just had a thought. What if instead of just explaining the aftermath of the endings but the crucible caused something that we then have to fix in the next Mass effect game?🤔

Ok, here's one that takes a lil stretch, you were talking about the RGB glitch, and quantum mechanics, here's my theory. L'iara said that the crucible would deliver unquantifiable power, (that's a but load) and if it backfired, there is no telling what it would do. What if it was enough power to rip a hole, or several holes in the galaxy, to other dimensions, and the N7 agent is an alternate Shepard, a complete uncaring, in it for myself renegade, and L'iara has to find one to replace ours. I have a lot more to this, but this is just a small bit. I should go.

Here is my theroy.the Crucible was a even bigger version of a mass relay. At the end if ME3 it shot the Normandy into a black hole and causing a massive EMP like burst. 3:09 the burst sent an anomaly reading all across space. killing the reapers and shorting out all the other mass relays in the process. While the Normandy was trying evade the blast it got shot into a black hole and it sent them through a wormhole. 3:09 it sends them to a parallel universe through an unknown event horizon. Upon which they enter a universe similar to ours hence the they do match but in this universe there is a bigger threat that needs to be stopped and Liara finds a geth that is damaged and trys to fix it upon fixing it she soon realizes that this one has memories of shepards collective memories from when shepherd rewrote the heretics (like a digital copy) causing us to both be shepard and not. Making our sacrifice at me3 cannon but allowing us to be a new character hence the new N7 looking robot. Hope it makes sense.

I got my degree in physics and can tell you that the "colors" in quantum chromodynamics (QCD) are arbitrary labels. Electrical charge has two types, positive and negative. "Color charge" has three types, and the use of RGB, is simply a shorthand to keep track of these three possible values and has nothing to do with actual color. Similar to the other names used to identify the six basic quarks in QCD: Up, down, charm, strange, bottom, and top, are also arbitrary titles.

Way back when I was a kid, our 1st color TV used to do that while watching hockey games. You have to wiggle the rabbit ear antenna or, put steel wool on the rabbit ears. It usually got better but never great. I think Shephard needs to wiggle the ship's rabbit ear antenna. Just putting this out there.

That said, I still think this is a case of BioWare using a specific style for artistic flourish rather than trying to convey a deeper meaning or message. I was watching some of your vids. Have you or any one else mention the quantum computers on board the ship? Could there have been one sent to Andromeda? Could the energy waves have some how augmented these reality bending computers and maybe made warp points? Or some such? Would explain “maybe” how the food and drink pictures were on the buildings in the live stream with your friend when talking about what planet that city may have been. Any ways, awesome job on your cannon balling into the world of Mass Effect :). Great splash indeed.

I agree with you, this is not some random chromatic abberation effect, the lines are too far from each other. If they really want to continue with milkyway story, they need to come up with something crazy and synthesis as craziest ending is a good starting point.

So I’m currently playing me2 and near the end when I helped legion with the geth heretics i chose to release the virus, it then blew up the same green explosion. My thoughts are that it’s the same idea ish only it’s made by geth and only for robots. That might explain why that particular green (¿synthesis?) explosion would hurt organics. In my mind it felt as if it’s essentially the same idea although not as advanced or all encompassing as the reapers green pulse version. I wonder if it starting by a virus or that it was caused by some powerful frequencies has anything to do with the synthesis ending.

I mean it is a merger of organic and synthetic so it would make sense to show the "attempt of synthetizing" visually. That or its some quantum overlapping because of said attempt.

Synthesis ending has always been the best for me, weve always had this duality where we have to either choose the paragon or renegade approach, without a middle point more balanced option, the synthesis ending metanarratively represents this, we can go red or blue as we always have, the extremes left and right, both very close minded and selfish, paragon sees it as an oportunity to use reapers for its own advantage, renegade sees it as an oportunity to kill the sons of bit.hes, but for the first time we have another option, an opportunity not only for the alliance but for all forms of life in the galaxy, the better present and future for everyone where theres not only peace but understanding between all forms of life, where we break the cycle, the true ideal society many deny in disbelief, colors are there for a reason. No wonder why in ME3 the more we stick to the blue or red path the more robot like we become, cause metanarratively thats what we are, robots programed to always follow the same train of thought, instead of reasoning and make our own decisions.

I mean tin foil hat but what if they go with the Indoctrination theory? If synthesis is glitching out that could be a sign the endings are a battle of wills against the Reapers and there is only one ending where Shepard lives and wakes up. Nobody knew Anderson died other than Shepard. Shepard is told multiple times that understanding the Reapers is bad as the Reapers love to talk things out with their influence.

The glitch is Synthesis trying to fix Jokers brittle bone disease but failing, as he still hobbles getting out of the Normandy 🤪🤣

Maybe the simplest answer might be the easiest to explain this. What was different about synthesis than the other endings? It combined both biological and synthetic life. The glitches might be or should be used to show changes to Joker and EDI, who is the Normandy. Now I have no idea why the other parts of the Milky way would be glitching...except maybe that is a clue of where to find a way to bring Shepard back? Maybe that is were project Lazarus was or is? Just guessing here

What i wonder is why no one thinks the zha'til ( created by the zha ) an old synthetic race at war with the proteans arent the ones who created the remnant and the angara, javik mentions them in me3 and theres even a codex entry about them. They lived on a dying planet and needed AI to survive, kinda sounds like SAM to me. If they fled the milky way 50.000 years ago to andromeda they could actually be the jardaan and/or benfector.

Ok, so super condensed info dump on color charge. In Nuclear Particles, Protons and Neutrons, you have an AVERAGE of 3 quarks, all of which are constantly decaying into other color charges, causing decay in other color charges. There's genuinely a near if not actual infinite amount of quarks inside at any given point, the 3 color charges are just the AVERAGE. The colors are absolutely arbitrary and are there exclusively as a vidual metaphor. A red quark isn't actually red. It just so happens that the way the charges of the Strong Nuclear Force operate is nearly identical to the way colors on a color wheel work. Absolutely pure coincidence. As for ME3 and it's ending, no clue what it means.

I've played through the Synthesis ending five times over the years with the original game version. I've never seen this. Not saying it's impossible, but I've never seen it. My assumption would be that they recorded each ending separately and something in the code glitched. There is a well-known programmer saying that goes "To err is human, to really F something up you need a computer."

My theory about why this happened is that they didn't use enough Fireballs. Is it a spell in ME? No, but it should have been. In all seriousness, these are good points. Keep the theories coming.

Noob here... just started playing Mass Efect 1 (a long overdue wish of mine) but kinda' fell in love with the lore. But... since this is the internet, let me throw my noob opinion: what if the Crucible was just just to scatter reapers into other dimensions? And could the RGB glitch in the Synthesis ending be a a way of showing Normandy with all it's crew glitching in-an-out of parallel dimensions? I'll see myself out...

So I know the teasera for 5 seem to show that none of the endings are canon, but isn't that based on the assumption that the Catalyst is being honest at the end of 3? I haven't tried in a while, but I know back in the day you could get EDI to exit the Normandy in the Destroy ending. Do the teasers work if Destroy is canon but doesn't kill anything except the Reapers?

Well, Mass Effect Andromeda and 3 show us, that writers like peaceful cooperation between synthetics and organics (Geth-Quarian war resolved and SAM's enhancement of the pathfinder) while other types of enslavement (Zha and Zha'til) are bad. The protoAI stealing money in Mass Effect 1's side quest on the presidium also talks about how organics only want to destroy or control (really says it this way) AI. Also Saren's 'synthesis' plan can't work as Reapers (Sovereign) don't see point in this type of synthesis. All Mass Effects are about cooperation (Virmire, Suicide mission, Taking back Earth and SAM) and its final step is "voluntary" synthesis (creating cyborgs both from machines and from organics) - only an option if the whole Galaxy is united and everything resolved peacefully. I might be wrong here, but even if I am, there is still something enlightening about it to me. P.S. Was there any talk about what type of player chooses which ending? Like do people leaning right choose destroy while left choose control and centre choose synthesis? (I am not saying it is this way, just randomly assigned it.) Or at least can some of you tell me how does your ending (and political-economical) decisions allign?

Perhaps the glitches are to represent an anomaly. Maybe joker outrunning the blast was the first anomaly created by the crucibles concentrated energy blast.

Everyone talking about chromatic aberration, or just artistically chosen to reflect everything merging, the fact that it wasn’t present in the original version, and just the remake, which was being worked on while the next game is in development, it’s really sketchy. So you might be onto something with the glitch in the synthesis ending, I'm certainly not discounting that. However if it's only present in the legendary edition it might just be that they messed up when they ported the scene. I hope I'm wrong and there is more meaning behind it but I'm not holding my breath.

I think when it comes to the endings create some junction of universes you have a sound theory, and potentially what bioware is working on. On the quarks... I will be a bit surprised if the pull it down to chromodynamics, i would expect the correlation has to do with RGB being standard basic colors as MCY (agenda, cyan, yellow) , could be... but strange quarks would be a more fascinating subject. Also on your theory could be quantum measurement of the universe wavefunction?, In quantum mechanics we do not know the "result" until we open the box. Before the measurement we have the superposition of the states, (Cat being alive or dead) so maybe we end up in a universe being in a triple state? Wavefunctions of course supposed to be a quantum mechanical thing which somewhere between molecule scale stops being quantum... go figure still trying to understand the limit (as human kind :P not just me) . But I would have pulled the universe wavefunction as a pseudoscience like element zero, why not? eitherway physics are repeating patterns of the same equation here and there and we don't talk enough about it :P So in sort could be the ending being a super quantum measurement that is collapsing and travel between cases endings just before the process is finished and the galaxy settles into synthesis, destroy or whatever. This could explain also the persistent probability the Reapers saw shepard as quantum operator that forces that wavefunction to collapse? you could cook some pseudo science there. PS do you know that someone said to bioware studio after the release of ME3 cupcakes in three colors r,g,b but all had the same taste :P genius io want to share this story with my friends... none is playing me :'(

First of all, it's brilliant. Secondly, the mass effect will be 100% connected with the multiverse based on quantum mechanics. Let us also remember quantum jumps from Star Citizen. Perhaps quantum mechanics will be a replacement for the zero element, although this is purely a theory, but it is well founded!)

I sure hope they're not making the synth ending the canon. And instead of trying to justify the abysmal 3 color ending, they should strive to do better in the future. If they're wasting resources and precious time on things like this, then I'm afraid that'll negatively affect the quality of the next game.

Love how varied the opinions are. To me, Synthesis is an abomination of an ending. Imagine waking up as one of the Reaper creations that’s multiple people merged into one. A brute in constant pain from the Turian and Krogan halves fighting each other. A praetorian made of 30 husks, and each husk getting sentience. Or just a single husk. Remember that lady at Sanctuary who was turning into a husk and just horrified?

Also hold up only destroy kills the reapers. Synthesis and control save the reapers.

While looking this up you seem to have missed the very important sentence "The "color charge" of quarks and gluons is completely unrelated to the everyday meanings of color and charge. The term color and the labels red, green, and blue became popular simply because of the loose analogy to the primary colors." Said a bit clearer: Nothing discussed here has color! Different colors are only used in the graphics to help distinguish the particles and effects discussed. So that has nothing to do with why they thought they should pep up the green a bit.

FWIW , re: the Ny Day 2022 trailer's weird glitchy thing, I thought it was reminiscent of geodesics and how it warps the fabric of space.

I guess one thing, if true, is that all three endings might be true as reality makes all three outcomes valid at the same time. (half baked thought)
