May be following issues with the synthesis Scheme-1: Methyl amine will give a mixture of tertiary amine and a secondary amine. Scheme-2: Friedal craft alkylation will give ortho substituted product as OH is ortho-directing group

Phenol shows ortho para electrophilic substitution.. So why you use phenol as a meta detector in route 2...??

Sir koi +ve charge phenol par attack karega to wo ortho Or para par ataach karna chaiye But apne meta par attach karva rakha hai Aisa kyu

The hydroxy group of phenol allows the chloro acetyl group to ortho or para not meta during acetylation

Sir route one is wrong because oh is electron donating group and chloro acetyl cholride is electron withdrawing so It attack on ortho and para position not on meta

u r wrong in route 2, u r saying that first product in route 2 is chloro phenyl acetonitrile. where the nitrile group is present. u r wrong. pls make necessary correction
