Absolutely , I really envy people that can build anything let alone a synth of that beauty and complexity. I have a diploma in electronics and I still know nothing apart from the basics. These folk are a gift to the planet , though I may joke about the size of the thing , I am seriously impressed by their genius and humility. I bet they are great musicians too just to put them into the god category .
I totally agree with the sentiment that this is making the world a more interesting place, and that not every synth must cost less than $300 dollars! Hear, hear! The opposite of the crummy disposable synths. Restoring the mystique and dreamlike desirability, something to aspire to, something to set the bar. Love it!!!
Beautifully stated. "crummy disposable synths". I'm glad behringer , teenage engineering, and the lot exist, but they're eventually all going to be Craigslist commodities.
A different level of expense but a couple of years ago I bought an AS Telemark K, instead of other synths that were cheaper or had more features, simply because I loved the sound and the way it looked. And I still do. Its a real character instrument and always makes me smile. Thanks @rezfilter for the youtube demos ;D
Good God, what a mammoth of a thing. You would need to get planning permission before you could bring it home. But what a work of engineering art. It is a beautiful.
@@phillytee9106 No, this is for the tobacco or ganja pipe smokers only club. Your probably thinking of Dieter Dopefiend and the EuroCrack modular stuff...
Actually since he's English he should be wearing one of those brown works coats (Think Ronny Barker in Open All Hours) over a v neck pullover that his mum knitted, white shirt and brown tie.
yes, the patching away from the knobs is good. why does everyone keep the patching jacks amongst the knobs? that's one thing I dislike about modular synthesis. .....
When you decide you want to build your average software synth in real life but want to make it all analogue XD it's an impressive piece of kit, really wondering what it looks like inside. Must be absolutely mind blowing. Imagine this in a clear case =o
Wow this thing is immense, 12 OSC's 8 Filters and so on, if you can trigger all the VCO's independently and if it has individual outs for each VCO it almost justifies it's price, it's also one of the most impressive looking f*cking synths I ever seen! OK just off to buy a Euromillions lottery ticket. P.S. You's got the price in the video description as £25 I'll take all of 'em at that price lol.
God grief! I know Robin Wood quite well & bought an AKS from him around 1984 ish, but the synthi 100 is one thing I sadly did not see at his Cornish home! Great job.
This must be the GAS'iest gear from the last decade. If I'd won the lottery, I'd have ordered one in a heartbeat and figured out where to put it later. I almost don't care what it sounds like: it just looks uber-epic. Oh well, at least I've just been able to afford a kilpatrick Audio Phenol. That is probably as close to this as I will get for the foreseeable future. Not that I mind, really. It takes up little space and sounds amazing.
What a beauty, I could look into financing one woof these, but the space would be a bit of the problem. I’m so happy there’s people making sound solutions like this
@@JobimSynthMusic it looks like you may be able to sleep underneath the lower control panel area, bunk bed style hehe. It could be like being a kid all over again, like us lot need the excuse to behave like kids
joysticks, multimeters and oscilloscope. i mean... shit. my stereo doesn’t even have a multimeter anymore. so i want this. you know. for free. my synth library better have one on order so i can play it WITH the synthi 100
A better instrument naming scheme than 'the one' by moog,. theme naming is also not a trend I advise to follow like all the feminine names by moog. certainly one of the better named instruments in the past fifty years. Looks like something I'm never going to own or use, that's disappointing. This will certainly sell more lesser priced Analogue Solutions,.
Hello, Nick! Did you've tried to record using an active stabilizer device for your camera? I think it's a "must have" thing for any major journalist these days. P.S. IMO you're def. major in these (synth and stuff) topics.
Problem is it's too heavy. That plus camera I just can't carry and operate for 6 hrs +. We're looking at phones and DJI osmo but the sound connections just aren't there yet
@@sonicstate yeah, I've thought about Osmo as well! But your phone stabilization seems to be very subtle (or "weak") or off completely. I've didn't thought that an active stabilizer heavy :) Another thing to think is to have a robo-bag that will be following you and carrying the heaviest things. I've seen some video about this... Don't remember the name but I remember that it exists. Walking 6+ hours with a few kilos on your back can be hard (especially if the flight was sleepless). So I understand...
@@bluntobjct I just don't like touch keys. I need tactile feedback. There has to be some sort of physical interaction, or at the very least, a distinct physical component that my fingers can recognize as a "button" (such as pads). These keyboards are just a uniform flat surface. I imagine it would feel awful trying to play any kind of melody on this.
@@bonsaimusic8078 Yeah, I expected that would be possible. And my comment wasn't meant as to suggest that I didn't like the synth overall. I would still gladly part with several internal organs in order to own a musical tool this incredible. I was just nitpicking.
I can’t imagine anyone seriously considering this, apart from maybe Hanz Zimmer. But you still have to admire the ambition here. From another world. Looks and sounds lovely.
Please keep this in production. FFS. Tired of these things being discontinued, only to be replaced with nothing, or tiny stupid tinker toys for the masses.
@sonicstate I love your uploads, don't get me wrong...but I gather, the camera moves too much, especially when zooming in, really...it makes your vids rather 'uneasy' to watch and that's not what I want, caus the content is way to interesting ;-}
