Seriously one of the best guitarist alive, his sound is so signature to him. If I'm walking past someone's music playing and all I can hear is Syn playing guitar, I recognize it instantly.
You can literally tell when it's Gates by just the first couple of seconds of a song. You can also tell when it's Zacky. They both have signature styles, though a lot of times they may feel similar. You can also feel the emotion in Gates' guitar. The sound of what he's playing tells you what the overall feeling of the song will be. In buried alive the first half of the song gives me a sorrowful, guilty tone just from the vocals and guitar work. The second half feels insane, dark, angry, and overall as if you might be listening to the story of a man going insane. Gates, Zacky, Shadows, Brooks, and Johnny all have signature styles, with Gates having the most distinct sound. Each member of the band has a unique sound, whether it's vocals, guitar, drums, bass, etc. Once you really get into Avenged Sevenfold, you can tell each Jimmy, Mike, Erin, and Brooks from each other. Same thing for Zacky and Gates. It's absolutely amazing how unique the band is in many different ways. Tl;dr: Avenged Sevenfold is unique as fuck in multiple ways.
I love how he makes it look effortless. He's so talented. He not only plays guitar on some crazy next level amazing, he composes music for all instruments in the band and writes lyrics. He's truly gifted when it comes to music
Yeah then have a secondary guitarist to play rythm, and harmonize with him..? Maybe some crazy ass bass player, and a octopus infused drummer... Thatd be a cool band. Call it revengeX7 or something. 😂😂😂
Ikr. Im trying to learn it rn and its a pain in the ass. I’ve already nailed the first part of the intro not the second one. But i’ve only been playing for 11 months so i should probably choose easier songs
When I feel horrible, I grab my guitar and play this intro specifically. It really lifts up my mood, one of the most beautiful things Synyster Gates has created. Fuck he’s so good
Syn I'm a huge fan. You're the reason I play guitar. The solos you made are so amazing and of course I'm a huge fan of Avenged Sevenfold. Love your work and the band's work \m/
No doubt. One of the single best guitarists of the ages. He has so much music theory & technicalities from multiple genres that he can throw into one single song anytime and it just flows epically. His best friend, The Rev (RIP), was my favorite drummer of all time for the same reasons. (And yes I listen to many a music) he's the reason I started drumming in the first place way back when 'Waking The Fallen's' first single: "Unholy Confessions" first debuted on Fuse. Been playing ever since and am now 34. You guys changed my life, and the world of music forever. Xoxo
I could imagine, a painfully slightly slowed version of this intro, wrapped into a real blues version of the same lyrics or maybe something different but this intro is so killer it just drags you in
So you use your thumb to get that first bass note..... I could never figure out how to play it. Thank you :) Edit: well this blew up!!! Didn't think I needed to point out I was talking about the fretting hand, but aparrently I did.
Oh, maybe you're actually talking about the left hand thumb ? Yeah, you can use it to play note too, it doesn't have to stay on the back of the neck ;)
TMmA Borno or his underwear or a watch or socks or his vase or a piece of art, his bead sheets, his bed you know any of that would that would be nice...
Generating Random so in an alternate dimension which means this dimensions counterpart. Wow, you really know how to completely remove yourself from the equation.
@@stupendous7848 I agree, contrary to what many think you don’t need big hands to play guitar. Matter of fact, fat hands would even be harder to play guitar with because big fat fingers make it harder to precisely hit frets cleanly. Been playing 15 years and I got small ass hands and can play damn near anything I want
I beg to differ...none of the rest of the band are mediocre. Especially not M Shadows and The Rev. Zacky’s pretty good too. Johnny’s an average bassist, but good enough.
@@jacksvillage9861 As a guitarist, I’ma tell you: Jimi Hendrix isn’t overrated. Musical taste is subjective, and even though Jimi’s music isn’t much my type, I can get why so many people see him as the best guitarist ever. He was very innovative, both musically and technically, and always seemed like a complete natural when playing guitar. As for Synyster, I can tell you that he’s among the very best (if not THE best) guitarists of this generation.
A lot of comments about how he has a signature sound but no ones gonna talk about those satisfying ass tones? This video has sealed the deal, im buying a signature guitar of his.
Hater think that synyster gates fans think he’s good just because of how fast he can play. I’m sorry but that’s just a small portion of the reason he’s one of the best. Synyster gate’s playing is so clean, his songwriting and lead writing is so good and so well studied, he can play really fast and stay clean, his solos sound so good, aren’t easy to play and and really fit well in any song they write
can anyone explain why he's guitar still hear like 'ting' but all electric guitar use amp.. so that 'ting' not hear anymore right? that sound so loud.. when i was watched a7x live, he's guitar still hear like that.. but i was watched another band live, lead guitar player not hear like that.. only he's guitar hear like that.. im interested know about it 7 years ago when im interested this band when my first watched live band in utube.. this year im remember for ask anybody.. so confuse.. he's guitar sound weird..
It because of how close the camera mic is to the guitar, the “ting” you are hearing are the actual strings UNDERNEATH the sound of the amplifier. The reason you won’t hear that on a stage is because the loud sound of the amp will drown that “ting” out. In other words, even at this camera angle, if he turned the amp up louder you wouldn’t hear the ting as much (or moved farther away)
