In a battle between two teams trying to become bowl eligible, the Yellow Jackets defeated the Orange, 31-22. The win is Georgia Tech's sixth of the season. Georgia Tech led by as many as 21, but Syracuse cut the lead to two midway through the fourth. The Yellow Jackets then went on a 9-play 5:16 drive, capped off by a Haynes King touchdown. King finished the game with 180 passing yards and two touchdowns, and 79 rushing yards with a rushing touchdown. Running back Jamal Haynes ran the ball 11 times for 82 yards and a rushing and receiving touchdown. Syracuse's LeQuint Allen had 194 all-purpose yards with 120 yards coming from 27 carries plus two rushing touchdowns.

I don’t think they select bowls by conference rankings I think it’s based on who the bowl wants to invite.

Glad tech got this win. It does feel good to finally go bowling after what they went through with the Collins era, Still have a lot of work to do, That defense needs better players, offense is much better than the last 4 years but needs to be more consistent. Cuse was returning the ball on kickoffs and punts for good field position. Cant have that especially next week. Not looking for any miracles next week but i will take 6-6 in this up and down season. Go jackets!

Bulldog fan here. Are there any Tech fans in Ga? I'm from Ga and I respect Tech but never a fan. I been a Bulldog fan since Hershel Walker. I love seeing Tech win but not against the Bulldogs. Go Dawgs, but respect to Tech lol

Another tough loss for the Orange… Another year of late season collapse… Last year 6-0 but finished 7-6. This year 4-0 but now 5-6… When will this get better? Or will it ever get better?

I'd say that its your schedule. Syracuse went 1-5 in the acc. And always play 2 low level d1 schools. But I will give it to you, one playmaker will turn the whole team around.

@@jessie_the_artist A program like Syracuse, they definitely need at least two lower tier games to just get the win. This year was Colgate, Western Michigan and Army. We did win an away game at Purdue… In the past, Syracuse used to schedule decently tough OOC games. Regardless being 1-6 in ACC and four of those losses being a blowout loss shouldn’t be acceptable for a coach in his 8th year… Coach Pasqualoni got fired in 2004 for two consecutive years of 6-6. The standard has gotten considerably lower and it’s frustrating to see the University not do anything or make an excuse.

@@fractal_nature Babers was a good person and represented the school well. He just didn’t win enough games and it’s time to move on. Syracuse University will need to invest their $$ to the Football program to bring in a good head coach and assistants. They also need to have competitive NIL$ package to recruit and retain the top players. I hope they significantly invest more $$ into the program

Sure anything can happen. Tech has a good offense. Dawgs just typically don't give you more than 1 quarter to really blow up on offense. After that they generally make defensive adjustments, and can Tech physically line up for 4 quarters? The one exception was Auburn which was early in the season. But still, it's at Tech, a night game, and Tech has nothing to lose. Definitely not a sleeper game for the Dawgs.

This will go down as the turning point game for Coach K. We are sitting perfect in the ranking at 50. And we beat the best 66th ranked team in the country. A lot of people are telling me that Syracuse really should have been ranked much higher. Like 59 or even 58th. After losing to tech, they are now 76th. But tech is at 50, so we will come into mark richt field in Atlanta with that going for us. I expect Georgia to be completely asleep for this game, so look for the jackets to score in this game. Maybe twice. And that will surely make us bowl eligible. If you think about it, scoring on Georgia is basically the same as winning. So when we lose, we still win. When you are ranked 50th, the wins are more moral than what's on the scoreboard. Go jackets. Don't embarrass me.
