The Virginia Cavaliers opened up the ACC season in style with an 84-62 win over Syracuse. Isaac McKneely led the way with a career-high 22 points on 8-11 shooting, including 6-8 from deep. As a team, the Cavaliers connected on 12-21 shots from three-point range in the win. Defensively, the Wahoos held the Orange to 41% shooting, locking down star guard Judah Mintz, who finished with just 5 points in the loss.
