Youth for Syria (Breesha, Joe and Sam) joined Andy Wint for the Mannin Line today to discuss whether the Island could accommodate Syrian families fleeing conflict #iom #news #manxradio
He helped get his own Isle of Man government ban on gay's donating blood removed. They did forbid gays from donating, full stop. Now, however, anyone who engages in anal sex (gay/bi/straight) is prohibited. Those gays/bis/straights who do NOT engage in anal sex can donate blood. That's equal treatment/consideration under the law. "The Isle of Man will update its discriminatory blood donation rules, its government has said after Manx Heartstopper actor Joe Locke called them out as “archaic”."
Joe locke in this video , is way more physically good than it was in the heartstopper And kuddos to you man , Mr. Joe , u are damn good a man in humanitarian ground I must say
The comments from the so called wiser older generation are absolutely appalling. Young people have as much right to their opinion and it should be equally valued instead of dismissed.
Older regrettably does not always equate to wiser. As a mid 50s individual it makes me sad to see and hear this from people of my age. Some of us try to argue the point with these others.
@@Jenna-cl8prIt’s not realistic at all, what you’re insinuating is that all Syrians are hateful and homophobic which is just wrong and illogical in so many ways, your comment can also be classified as racist so keep that in mind.
You people wont realise what you had till it’s gone like the rest of our isles. London is minority English and all of our major cities are going the same way. The Isle of Man has a tiny population and demographic shift will happen extremely quickly. It’s time for us natives to wake up, we are being colonised.
What a prejudiced and racist comment! What does it matter to you that there are people around you who have origins from somewhere else in the world? We are all human after all!
This screams Xenophobia and is a racist notion. The mixing up of people, cultures, ideas, etc is how many of the things you enjoy were born. The language you comment in, the English language comes from this mixing up of different people and languages. Also doesn't everyone deserve a safe home, when fleeing war as is the case with Syrian refugees. It's not colonisation, as people aren't coming to be the leaders of the country/ruling like in the way when Britain colonised and had an empire, so the word doesn't fit. I don't want to make this comment too long, but I'm not a fan of nations anyway for reasons I could explain. I feel we should have borders open, especially receive those who need help and so we can experience the variety of stuff on this earth
