I'm a high school drop out who never got a GED. My story is similar to Craig's in several ways, however I didn't intend on getting a job in IT. I was working in construction and I had a path to make six figures so I wasn't concerned about my income. In 2019 I discovered Linux desktop and quickly got interested in running a Linux home server. I had already been running a Windows media server. To gain more experience in my hobby I chose to volunteer my time at a small national organization for which I setup a communication server. If it wasn't for the lockdowns I would have never chosen to change careers. But after a 8 month layoff I decided I needed to be doing my hobby full time. That is when I discovered this channel. This channel helped me to decide on DevOps as a career path. I am happy to say that exactly 23 months to the day after installing my first distro I accepted my first DevOps Engineer role for a fortune 500 company. I have been in the position for 4 months and loving every second of it.

I have to say by watching your videos I have learned so much. I honestly believe you allowed me to get a job at a FAANG. Like no joke, I really think your tutorials are that good and your interview videos give us a chance to understand what an interview might be like. The excitement you get on certain subject is something that resonates with me. Definitely keep up the good work, there are a lot of us who benefit so much from everything you do.

I don't agree with the comments about having a threshold to communicating with seniors. That's not fostering an environment of open communication and team-work. I fully expect juniors to be asking me questions constantly and that during their onboarding phase I will be expected to help them get up to speed. If I heard that is his way of communication and teamwork, I'd probably exclude myself from working with this guy.
