RB4 pro drums actually aren't that far off at all. Obviously the guitar and bass are nothing like bass and guitar in real life, but the microphone and drums are actually actions that you could do in real life if you have it set up just like your Rock Band and play the song very similarly. The only difference is the lack of a couple drum pieces (but still playable) and a hat pedal... If you learn it on RB it definitely transfers over and vice versa (but it only really applies if the set-up is the same, and if you use the pro drums on expert).

rb/ch pro drums are pretty much identical to playing an actual electric drum kit. In fact, a lot of pro drums players use real drum kits as their controllers. That's why you never see "Why don't you play a real drumset" comments like you would on gh vids; it _is_ a real drumset.

Well its a rock song...rock drummers make the basics look hard and jazz/reggae make the hard look easy. Ive been drumming for 18yrs I started off with rock and believe me its the easiest style of drumming especially songs like this.

Drummer here. Since I didn’t have a drumset when I was a kid, I had to find an alternative, and that was rockband. It definitely is a great learning tool for rythm, basic beats, flow, etc. but it’s very rock heavy and lacks rudiments. Is it the most proficient? Maybe not for technicality, but it’s a great tool.

A Roland TD -4 Electronic Drum Set is a real kit . I would rather go with a Alesis Turbo Mesh Kit. They cost $300 compared to $500.

@@300kike I feel like, at this point it’s almost like reading sheet music and using muscle memory to know where the drums are without looking at them. If I try to play a different drum set I’ll do terrible because I can’t find the pads without looking down

This is ridiculous, Trying to drum on Rockband is absurdly difficult even on beginner my wrists feel like they're going to snap because It's so hard to line up hitting the drum with what's on screen, real drumming is one thing but this is absurdly different (I saw Ringo Starr trying to play Beatles Rockband once and he said its just not the same as real drumming) Now playing Rockband guitar is like using a controller, Yes world record experts are crazy but at the end of the day you're holding down buttons and strumming a joystick.

thanks for your videos! good timing for me to reveal this channel, because i dreamed of real electronic drumset for more than 5 years, and finally i bought it a month ago (yamaha dtx400k) - now i need to practice hard parts, and your movements inspire me to sit and learn again and again 0:23 - 0:37 is a crazy part for me - more than 1 hour of training for today, starting from 70% speed, and finally i can make it almost without any mistakes up to 85-90% speed. PS all your videos looks perfectly synchronized - and im suffering from minor calibration problems on Phase Shift +it's have smaller hit windows than any other similar games :(

People say this looks like a real electronic set. Well, that's because it is. Its just very cheap. The sound programs usually sound awesome, its the cheapest high quality electric drum set you can buy even in 2024. The guitars are just ... fake toys. But the drumset is legitimate.

all of my videos are copyright claimed and the ad revenue goes to the music artists. Those artists COULD issue a copyright strike if they want, in which case I would have to remove the video, but generally they allow the videos to stay up and gather the revenue instead.

It's recommended to at some point learn on a real kit, because they're much harder to play than e drums, and they're much more fun. Also if you do learn with an e kit playing this game might give you the wrong idea of how to play, since a lot of the charts are wrong in some way, and you can't hear what you're playing. Hearing yourself is really important for learning any instrument. Although this does look fun.

The rectangles are for the bottom pads (toms), the round are for the cymbals at the top. The yellow lines are for the kick pedal.

Theres 4 colors and a kick indicator. 5 indicators of what to do. But you have 8 pieces to hit! How do you know to hit any of the extra 3 pieces?

The shape of the note that is coming down tells you what to hit. The round dome shapes are the high hat and cymbals, the rectangles are the snare and toms.

RB4's just a better game. I'm just playing, I like both but I prefer to play charts in the game they were made for. So I like to use CH for customs, and official charts in RB4. Although for customs I've been using YARG more and more often.

@@Mystakin Thanks for your reply! Sadly RB4 is not on pc, I don't have a console.. Will try Yarg though. Can you maybe tell me what double kick setup you are using? I have almost the same drum set except missing the double kick and have a mesh snare, but the standard pedals are not so great

YARG's pretty sick, can't recommend it enough. I don't use this kit anymore, but there was nothing special about my setup. Nowadays I use a KD-9 kickpad with a basic double pedal, but if you check around RU-vid you'll find folks with way more knowledge than me offering advice on pedals.

Matt Moon its not a mesh kit. you need either a ps3 pro adapter (not recommended) or a rolllimitless.com drum adapter ($60, def worth it)
