Yeah - this got me at a rehearsal. I was extremely confused until I worked this out. Good comment. The confusion comes because the REST of the band ARE playing in Drop C but the bass is tuned to drop C#. So these are the correct bass notes if the band is playing in drop C. If the whole band tunes to drop C# then it's a clusterfuck.

Agree-just to make sure the comment viewer doesn't get confused any further, it is Drop C tuning, period. Just as the video, one fret ahead

@@zerpaulan_6643 The OG tuning is Drop C. The guy in the cover plays in Drop C# tuning, but the tabs are arranged in order to make it sound just the same as the OG. If he is playing the 6th fret in Drop C#, you should be playing the 7th fret in Drop C-in both situations the resulting sound is a G# note. The same applies to every note. So, the end is playing as the cover version, just "one fret ahead" so it sounds right in Drop C, instead.

hardest part for me with songs like this is remembering the order of the sections

It's always hard when you want to play it as perfect as possible, but compared to other songs, it was easy

My reference was some live videos, thanks for clarifying that, maybe i'm wrong.

CoverSolutions SOAD played in regular drop C until Mesmerize/Hypnotize when they switched to C#. So I bet they just played their old songs in C# during live events thereafter. Could be an explanation.

Vlarken You are right and I must add that in the last years they have been playing in Drop C again, as Serj has some evident difficulty to reach the high notes he was able to reach years ago. Anyway, if you hear some live during the Mezmerize/Hypnotize era, singing a half tone higher doesn't come so easily to poor Serj.
