This was one of my best friends favorite songs. We used to listen to this (and many others) while shredding it up at the skatepark, rest in peace roach🙏 the good ones always go too soon...
That's because SOAD is influenced heavily by their own Armenian culture. Their music is basically just Armenian folk music made metal. You can hear it even more in Toxicity.
Fun fact of the day: the last thing Jesus said as he was nailed on the cross was "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit... It is finished"... There, now you know
That’s why I get goosebumps when I hear the “Father into your hands…why have you forsaken me?” part. I know the song is about an abuser, not the Lord. But I have never found a song that so well conveyed the sorrow and doom of that moment on the cross, when God poured out his wrath on his only Son for the sake of sinners.
@@EarlFrenziedKingJesus and his nailing upon the cross is a historical, documented fact. Whether you want to believe in his divinity or not is up to you.
I understand that your just trying to let others know some cool facts about Christianity, but in the comment section of a rock song, is definitely not the best place to do that…
Unlike some people who expressed this song mocks Jesus. I rather think this song depicts Jesus last words as showlike experience. Nothing else. Nothing disrespectful.
It’s a depiction of a lack of faith in God, the Father. This song is about a suicide attempt, about someone who was in such a deep state of despair that they tried to kill themselves. That verse is someone crying out to their God, pleading to know why they’ve been forsaken.
This my dad’s favorite band and I remember hearing this song a lot as a kid. I heard it on the radio and have been listening to non stop and I’m going to sing it to him.
2:25 For years I thought he was saying "Father dear Hans"......... I will always sing those lyrics Father dear Hans, why have you forsaken me.....makes more sense to me!!!
@@A_Lei_em_Voz English is not your first language is it? Hans is a mans name. His father is called Hans and he's asking why he has forsaken him. "Father dear Hans why have you forsaken me..." I hope this makes sense to you
ok i stand spun around. here i thought for a long arse time that this song was glorifying suicide... but now that i sat down and heard it and looked at the lyrics... its not... its way deeper than that ... i feel disappointed in myself... but so relieaved that such a catchy song is really something much .... better than i expected. well played system of a down.. well played i should check your stuff out more.
A Facebook post said you're about to attack the death star and your about to put the volume up. And which song you playing? Well. ... obv I'm picking this.
Entire song is about Jesus Christ. Thank you God for your self righteousnes suicide. You are the righteous one. You left the keys to heaven on the table. No one could take your life from you. You laid it down, for all of us. Bless you Lord
