@@stoicdeicide2810 As forest, shimming, atwa, dear dance, jet pilot, science, revenga too ... man i can go all day !! Seriously all there songs are bangers !
i found out about system and ultimately learned guitar from this song weather im playing it or listening to it i get goosebumps from why have you foresaken me to the very end of the song
Most of these reactors probably know most of the songs they react to already. No wonder it's usually popular ones, cause then they will get more views.
Does anyone remember listening to this for the first time when it came out? Mind blowing. There was absolutely NOTHING like it and it was almost too much to wrap your head around.
I do. The opening line is something you only had to hear once and it was burned into your head forever. I can't remember if I heard this on the local rock radio station or MTV. I was 19 or 20 and full of piss and vinager so it was perfect.
Yes I remember! Also remember the first time I heard Smells like Teen Spirit, Pearl Jam,.Rage Against the Machine and many others ...... the 1990's had t.he most incredible music! It's like some portal was opened and these magical bands came out.... of nowhere! Mind blowing
Good ol Serj. The whole band are Armenian Americans and heavily involved in their homelands politics. He co-founded a political activism group with Tom Morello from RATM.
Yep 007. Another Armenian American with a political voice is Ana Kasparian of The Young Turks - The Home of Progressives. Check them out weekdays on UTube
@@suds5214 shes a genocide denier. Or she works with that piece of shit, Cenk who denies the Armenian genocide. Shes a sell out. She is a hypocrite. Shes just terrible
Idk ppl.. those are great songs but there are other ones that no ones doing. I think you should do ATWA, forest, hypnotize or question. Man there are a lot of good ones lol. Bounce is funny. X and I-E-A-I-A-I-O are great
Armenian American band from Glendale, California... which is one of the centers of Armenian immigration. The members are Serj Tankian(Lead vocals, keyboards), Daron Malakian (vocals, guitar), Shavo Odadjian (bass, backing vocals) and John Dolmayan (drums). Cultural lesson for today: If your name ends in "ian", you are probably Armenian, and if you are Armenian, your name almost certainly ends in "ian". The song was released the week before 9/11 in 2001.
I was an addict when this song came out. It was what started me being self-aware about my problem... it's just a shame that it took me another 11 years to act on it.
@@artiezonk I don't believe he actually has opera training. Some people could definitely see some opera influences in some of his delivery and the fact that he has an interesting lower register but if you listen to a certifiably trained male opera singer and Serj you will see (or i guess hear) that it is very different. He has sang with an Opera Orchestra which may be the source of that confusion. He is still a world class vocalist without that kind of training and honestly its almost more impressive that it is mostly all natural talent and self taught skill.
Bro you gotta do more SOAD reactions, toxicity, BYOB, and aerials are some of their biggest ones keep it up my mans Also this album came out back in 2001
Oh man, you've opened a can of worms! I was lucky enough to see them on the Mesmerize/Hypnotize tour. I was front row in the pit, then they started with B.Y.O.B. and I got pushed to the back in a hurry. It was awesome!
MyFlipperLikesIce - Awesome, dude! I could never get how John always had a straight face, even when he threw some sticks way far into the stands, haha!
2011 Fiddler's Green Amphitheater Colorado. With a large bag of Fungus. Myself & 20+ people who just happened to be in my proximity. What a unforgettable trip. One of my favorite experiences. Now if we could just get them to tour with "Rage" in 2021. That would be mind-blowing.
I'm always absolutely gobsmacked when I see someone who has never hard before some legendary, epic, masterpiece like Chop Suey. Makes for good reaction videos! Keep it up!
@@bamakris100 love those tracks as well! Jailhouse, Pawn Shop and Scarlet Begonias are a few more of my favorites from them. Now we just gotta get Jamel_AKA_Jamel to check Sublime out.
Jivy you make no sense. The song is about the war on drugs and the for profit prison system, not about the Armenian genocide. Plus Cenk is not the authority System or woke.
SOAD is a different breed of rock music. You have to embrace them and go all in. Every song has an important message which you can appreciate. Great reaction as always brotha! Rock on 🤘
Can I just say. This video is the perfect example of a reaction video. I've watched it time and again as your exploration of this song in real time via facial expressions is utterly compelling and entertaining. I love it.
I was born in '69 and had a brother 7 years older than me. I grew up listening to Led Zeppelin, Boston, Pink Floyd, Rush etc. I only actually came across SoaD when I started watching these reaction videos. I now sit here wishing they had a 15 album repertoire! I'm really bummed that they didn't make more music. They were phenomenal!
Wow, 3/4 of a year since I first watched your reaction to this song. Not only did your video introduce me to SOAD in general, but this song is by far my favorite to watch reaction videos in general. Everyone that listens to it is shocked, surprised, amazed, confused etc. I've watched dozens by now, and not a single one doesn't rewind it somewhere at least once.
The more I see your reactions to a variety of different metal bands and rock bands the more I understand your taste in music. Please check out Ghost Love Score live by Nightwish. Its considered symphonic metal and it's truly incredible. As always, enjoy the music my dude!
@@jamelakajamal awwwww shit! Awesome! Wasn't aware of this!!!!! Good shit dude, looking forward to some more dream theater and whatever comes next! Keep up the great work!
Also I don't often see people react to it because people just aren't familiar with him but you should watch check out Speed Kills by Michael Angelo Batio. He was the guitarist for an 80's hair metal band called Nitro and is definitely one of the most technically skilled guitarists in the world
I really like System of a Down's style of heavy metal broken up by an almost soft rock kind of a vibe. it really jives with me. Nothing like them...which is both good and bad...they are unique which is always nice but they are so unique that it's near impossible to scratch that itch since they took a break for an indeterminate amount of time.
It 's the wild animal man! How extreme and wonderful eh? What talent! Just following you from the 70's. I've seen this video before and was blown away!
pls also react to Serg Tankian´s (the vocalist) soloalbum "elect the dead" Especially to "Empty walls" (with the official video) and "money". 6:32 that´s SOAD that´s typical SOAD.
Damn brother I forgot how mind blowing this was! I was at a bad place in life when this came out and I didn’t appreciate it as much as I just did. As always your reaction adds so much to my favorite songs!
This was their first single from their second album, ‘Toxicity’, which was No.1 in the charts at the time of the 9/11 terrorist attack. This song caused “media outrage” because of the line about “trust in my self righteous suicide”.
good choice man. I'd love to see your reaction to "prison song" and "B.Y.O.B." for lyrical content, and "radio/video" for musical content. have a like and a sub either way.
I love these reaction videos coming out! Watching someone discover rock and metal and seeing them catch their breath at a good riff, or seeing their eyes huge watching live footage...and you know they're getting goosebumps at the same spots we are. I REMEMBER THOSE FEELINGS! Hahahaa. Welcome to the world of sick guitar riffs, heavy drums and the insane electricity of the fans at a live show.
Spiders is the stand out to me from that album, but I dig the hell out of sugar. Actually I like all of the songs from all of the albums, but aerials was way over played.
If you haven't yet: Pantera: Cowboys From Hell Pantera: Walk Upon a Burning Body: Texas Blood Money Once you listen to both Pantera songs, listen for Pantera tribute/homage in Texas Blood Money lyrics. Both bands are from Texas but Pantera is Texas royalty. RIP Dimebag and Vinnie.
That was hysterical @ Jamel when they were singing the first part of “I cried when angels deserve to dieee” and serj started to scream 😂 love your expresssion👍🏽
Literally my favorite song to watch people react to... it brings me back to that first time I saw the video and heard the track. The _Toxicity_ album wouldn't leave my cd player (remember those?!?) for a looooong time!
Love these videos, allows your to experience how you felt when you first heard this masterpiece. Seeing the joy it brings all this years later is heartwarming.
This is one of those songs that completely transcends it's genre... people all over the world loved this song even if they normally wouldn't listen to anything like it... and it can't be really explained why exactly this song does while SOAD has much MUCH better songs.
I love this song. It was on my playlist to get me pumped up before I rolled out on patrol in Baghdad back in the day. I told my brothers that if I was KIA they had to plays this at my memorial ceremony.
My favorite band to this day. I love every single album of theirs, each distinct and full of wonderful music. Even Hypnotize and Mezmerize which were sister albums released in the same year. 2005 I think. Damn that was a good year for me.
Been watching a lot of reaction channels lately, and have noticed something.as soon as one of you do a song, every single reaction channel does the exact same song.does nobody go their own way?
