I think it’s great for that lo-fi sound. The 12-bit wavetables, FM, oscillator sync, noise and analog filter works really well together, with lots of characterful timbres to explore. The analog filter is really nice, so it can do smooth “regular” synth sounds too.
Congrats for an exceptionally well-crafted instrument. It’s very different from the other small synths I own, and very inspiring to play with. The user interface works surprisingly well, with the small amount of knobs. It’s very well thought out and the labels on the box makes it easy to navigate.
Brilliant. Loved the jam... and your explanation. Strongly considering the OO... for generative ambient it seems on of the best out there. And they keep adding features. Thanks for the share.
Glad you liked it, Mark. Yeah, the OXI is great for ambient. I also think the Hapax looks interesting, with all its MIDI effects. It’s more expensive, though, and a bit bigger then the OXI.
I hate my Wavestates build quality, I feel somewhat cheated that the lacking of AT and plastic body makes me sad when things like Töörö get released. I still have my WS packed away, I probably won't sell it but it's love/hate. My Typhon on the other hand is such a joy to use, it gets complicated without being too complicated, sounds brilliant and flexes its own character extremely well. East Beast, West Pest, a bunch of others are showing you do not need an overly large sized synth with keyed, to be able to compete with more expensive synths. I love these little things, they sound great, don't take up a bunch of room, and allow to be in peripheral vision without having to move focus too much from centre stage. I love hands on and I am a tweaker, something like this would be more than welcomed in my set. Thx for the upload.
Yeah, the Töörö is great, and the small footprint is very welcome. The Wavestate could really benefit from polyphonic aftertouch, with its wonderful modulation options. I have the Hydrasynth, and the keyboard is great for expressive playing.
I keep coming back to listen to this wonderful performance. And with the latest firmware you can now power and midi control the Töörö from the Oxi One with a usb-c to usb-b cable!
Thanks for the cool jam. I like you've made use of the multi-timbrality and the external outputs, it's pretty unique to this machine! Greetings from Germany 😜
Nice man. Really love Oxi one. I'm really curious how I can use oxi one with samples. I don't want to use vst but its modes with samples. Any suggestions?
Stereo mini jack at both ends. The cable then carries two completely independent channels of audio, not one stereo channel. So on the Bluebox side I have configured that stereo input as two mono channels that can be mixed and routed independently. So one minijack stereo cable for output 1/2 and one minijack stereo cable for output 3/4.
@@orchidsvoid yes in deed I just dont understand why so many sequencers and groove boxes do not have velocity sensitive pads I would think the input device you are using on a musical instrument is the number one priority! Novation Circuit Tracks does it and its £300 new
I find it very fun and inspiring to play with. It would be great if the pads were velocity sensitive and supported aftertouch, of course, but that would add to the price, so I understand their choice. I’d like to pair it with a small MIDI keyboard.
Thanks. I have a crush on the Töörö these days, as you might be able to tell :-). The manual is very readable and the synth is not very complex, so I find creating new patches very easy. Even though it’s only four encoders, the layout and labeling is very good and feels familiar in a short time. The MIDI support is excellent. I have been playing it “live” with the keyboard layout of the OXI, and that works great. I would expect it to be just as easy to play it from a regular MIDI keyboard.
@@Waveformer that's an awesome love affair to have. My Typhon is similar, so simple yet can be very complex. Being intuitive is the key factor here, it not only saves on space, but is cheaper to produce. I would without a doubt sell all my keyboards to get more of these modules on my desk, luckily I only have 3 on there atm. I am not bashful when it comes to support people like yourself who do make patches for gear like this, I buy them so I have no real need to get under the hood so to speak. I just need immediate surface controls that allow for some easy tweaking. Typhon does exactly this, and it is stellar value for money. Töörö isn't available where I live yet so I might need to hold off. Thx for that love letter to the Töörö!!!
Yes, you can mix together the four parts to one stereo out :-). The Töörö doesn’t have a headphone out, so you need to connect it to some kind of amplifier or mixer with headphone output.
@@Waveformer And if combining the two 6.35 outputs to one 3.5mm female adapter? Is in that case a headphone possible? I ask this because I do not have a amplifier or mixer.
@@zoltanmeszaros5132 I haven’t tried. You’ll probably hear something, but I suspect the volume in your headphones will be a bit low, depending on the impedance of your headphones.
