When Bush Pilot in South America i had 3 partial engine fails on the Cherokees we had. I was an auto mechanic too so liked to feel the engines well. After the 2nd one, due water like you, i used to S turn them on taxiway to move any water then bring them back,.. and drained more water of course. But i did moved the 4 engine levers when engine down, not much, but you have to troubleshoot. Or die.. LOL... Partial power you better use some flaps. it is like a Vglide speed slow flight which needs 10 flaps at least. First one i did the downwind leg at 200 agl. Scary.

Would it have been better to take the plane to a high altitude and done a couple of gentle barrel rolls to displace the water before doing touch and goes? Monday morning quarterbacking here.

Hmm…. Isn’t there a flush product that will not react with the bladders, absorb the water, and then be carried out by the fuel and subsequent flushes? Don’t want to air purge because it would dry the seals.

Oh, too bad they divested all the T-34C's. That was an amazing, but sometimes dangerous, plane to fly. 1100 ft-lbs of pure impeller-turbine power. If you didn't stomp hard on the right rudder, it would run off in the dirt. The plane WANTED to fly, and was off the ground in about 500 ft. THIS would be a "Lottery" purchase, if they hadn't scrapped them all.
