Wow, you made this book? :O btw, amazing device is Roland Aira T-8 i'm in love with it! Excellent peace of gear! Really easy to use and cool device for live and sounds great
Think I will get this book. Just on the subject of the Bass part. I’m having trouble programming octaves and getting the bass how I want to sound. Could you maybe do a short video on how you program your Bass sequences. It’s ok if you don’t get time. Just thought I would ask. Very good content on the T-8 though.👍 Simon.
T-8 has several ways to record step time real time via the rubber buttons on T-8 real time via a connected midi keyboard re step time - adding octaves is a post process mostly.. similar to the layer process of a tb-303 you enter the step where you want a note, decide what note via the value knob you may at that time dial up or down to a different octave or you might do thru later and move a note from it default octave up or down you hold that step to reveal what note it is for example C2 .. you can then use the value knob to dial this up or down to c1 or c4 etc or any note/octave realtime using the rubber keys in keyboard mode: press to note you want a the right time in RECORD mode you also have oct+ and oct- buttons to move what the keys play when pressed realtime via a midi keyboard you have full access to any key in any octave depending on the controller keyboard used.
My book arrived today. Thank you very much for taking the time to make it. May I ask what the "Time" row is for on the Bass instrument pages? Once again, thank you! P.S. Did you write a book for the Roland S-1 as well?
thank you for the purchase, the time is referring to the note step..what's lit up on the 16 buttons per bar on the T-8 itself, so you know you've got it right at a glance and the you can dive in and edit the notes and octaves for variations with the same timing etc.. you don't 'have' to use it but it's there if you want it.
Great idea!! This is cool. However- there are two probabilities per step for rhythm- one for the step itself and one for the substep ratchet. It looked like you had just one row for step probability but not for substep probability?
EDit .. ah! i see that now.. i'll update the book, will let you know when the new edition is live. There's no probability track or substep track for the bass in the roland T-8 btw.
