I have ATC SCM20 + ATC P2 + RME ADI-2 DAC FS (as dac and preamp for P2). My plan is to replace the RME with the T+A DAC 200. I like the RME but think it's going to be a big step up in sound quality. What do you think about preamp in T+A DAC 200 under P2? Do you consider getting ATC preamp or the one in DAC200 is just good enough?
I do not consider the T+A 200 better than the RME! many might not agree but I have compared them side by side and I would say they sound very similar but the price gap is huge £6000 vs £1500. Keep your RME and try the Audio Note DAC 0.1x at under £1600 it will outshine the T+A DAC 200 and open up the sound your getting now with just RME, I also think would suit your ATC SCM 20 studio. The PrimaLuna EVO 100 Pre Amplifier is also a good option for your setup, sounds great with the RME - ATC P2. I should add I can't comment how this would sound with the ATC SCM 20 studio, but my ATC SCM 19/40 really enjoy this combo.
