T-ara is really up there...They used to be a threat to groups like Girls generation/2NE1...T-ara is definetly in the top 5 along with Kara, Wondergirls during the 2nd gen era...during their peak (2009-2012) Any fan of t-ara were blessed with constant new releases...and they're songs were very addictive & catchy...Bo peep, Roly Poly & Lovey Dovey perhaps are the songs that go down in the history books of K-pop...Roly poly especially was the most downloaded song in 2011 & is an Iconic K-pop song that is constantly being covered by idol juniors... My only issue with T-ara's management is that they have too many versions of a song...whether its a remix/a dance music video version/a movie music video version (they are known for long ass blockbuster Music Videos) and all of that with the inconsistent/double Platforms/channels they use to release these MVs... These days youtube views seems to be the metric to judge wether or not a group is popular or not...or if it was a success or not...And roly poly Is that of an iconic song But the music video is tooo long to the point that they don't get high viewership numbers...copacabana version has more views because to simply put the music video was shorter...But people actually opt for the original version...So views often don't justify a success of a song...Especially an older generation group...the k-pop fandom during their time was not as big as it is now...These days newer groups tend to hits 20-50 million views easily in a week with all of these new kids that are highly invested in using youtube.... anyhow thank u for checking them out...the music video quality certainly is not the best, But hey they really did make a mark in the K-industry...And they are of a legend status
Woot T-ara marathon! Thank you for sharing with us. Lies is one of my favorite T-ara song, I guess I perfered the part1 more. T-ara is very famous for their catchy sad song with addictive choreography. Most the vocals strike you in Lies is by Soyeon, their main vocal. Her voice is one of the kinds among girl idols, a natural sorrow voice that stands out very much. Especially in their TTL(Time to Love) or Sugar free. You forgot Cry Cry, Bo Peep Bo Peep, Lovey Dovey, Sugar Free which are also so so catchy and good. Not to forget their collab songs Time To Love and We Were In Love which are so good I still listen to em. But yeah almost all of their title tracks are hits and bops. I think I prefer Roly Poly in Copacabana but both are iconic. Roly Poly is the best selling song by a GG ever, the styling is just so good, I love watching the live stages because thry always had a different styling and the performance always was different. Lies is just a great song, it’s also iconic in Korea, even the dance. If you are going to do another marathon, do Cry Cry + Lovey Dovey drama mvs, they’re 2 parts of the same and there’s a subbed version of the full 34 minutes. Or Day by Day + Sexy Love (around 24 minutes?). I’m sure you’ll love them.
With T-ARA's MVs are all very hardest. They seem to be very good, but some songs are better to watch choreographic versions or stage performances right away. I would recommend watching as MV: Number Nine, Lovey-Dovey (horror, a bit long), Bo Peep Bo Peep (18+) (also must watch the stage version with choreography), You Drive Me Crazy (너 때문에 미쳐) , I'm Really Hurt, Sexy Love (probably will be banned) (also must watch choreography), Tiamo, What's my name? (was the last MV before this year's comeback). But these: Cry-Cry, Day by Day, Time To Love, So Crazy, Little Apple (Chinese song), Apple is A+ - are better first to watch not as MVs, but as choreographic versions or stage (concert) performances. Of course I wrote here not all songs which have MVs or choreographies, Japanese releases are not mentioned either.
