This video shows the process of welding a round belt. The t-band round belt is the only one that can be bonded together off of the pinsetter. All others must be welded in place.
Yeah it works great so long as you don't press round belts to the cold core. Reinforcing the clamp with fender washers will also save you frustration from somebody breaking them.
