This TI album is severely overlooked. The entire album maintains a theme and identity throughout whilst each song manages to be distinct. It's a more mature, reflective album but still holds it down and is still the truth. Perhaps there's 1 or 2 throwaways on the album, but that's very little fat compared to a large majority of projects. King of the South? King of the South still? Yes. I've heard the culture say TI is the Jay Z of the south... I dunno, if you're talking about a skill comparison in a different geographical location. Then, yeah, I can see that. Both story tellers, that spit their truth and wrap it up in a blanket of the identity and vibe of the areas they are from. Personally, I find TI tracks to pump me up in more of a positive way than Jay... Like, I wanna get the bag. Hustle hard. Get what I deserve type shit. It's realistic music, but more optimistic. Also... TI music is far creamier. Perhaps that's the south in the mix? But regardless, it is. It's a hot night, the top is down, you're on one, works done for the week and you have the scent of a bad bitch sitting shotgun and you're absolutely flying down the freeway, slapping some TI. You have energy. You feel tomorrow is gonna be awesome. But... You're also gonna get up to no damn good, with whatever that may entail. Wicked album. One of my absolute favourites.
