Definitely NOT Steve Peregrin Took. The bongo playing is (sorry Micky) not a patch on Steve Took's and there is a complete lack of wonderful Harmony Vocals which made the first three Tyrannosaurus Rex albums so magical - the ultimate being 'Unicorn'. Micky does a bit on The Wizard, but in no way is it as good as with Steve Took. For more on Steve Took visit www.SteveTook.com

Mickey was using mainly his Marocan Clay Drums during this session. Not bad, I like it. But not as good as Steve was.

Dave Wray- John Peel stated at 25:01 that on this performance Mickey Finn is playing "an insistent bass line"

Then you think wrongly Dave Wray. It's just Marc and Mickey. The only track on here with bass is Elememtal Child and that is Mickey on bass. The name on this vid is wrong, and the date I might also wrong. At around 17.55-18.00, John Peel states that Light of the Magical Moon is going to be released on January the 9th "he" ie.[Marc Bolan]thinks"-Peel. . According to this web site: www.marcbolan.eu/TREX%20DISCO.htm Magical Moon was released on January 20, 1970. Not sure, but I think this video is either late 1969, or very early 1970. So it could possibly be late 69.

@@diesekaltewelt807 there is a book called strange fruit peel with every session and who played on it i have the book but its at my mothers i will get it soon and know for sure , when say the title is wrong what did you mean . or just the date.

@@brubeck1 @diese kalte Welt It was recorded on 01 January 1970 and broadcast on 04 January 1970, so the pastdaily.com date is incorrect. Show info is here: peel.fandom.com/wiki/04_January_1970 The broadcast date is confirmed by Ken Garner's Peel Sessions book. I think what diese kalte Welt meant by "the title is wrong" is that the bandname should be Tyrannosaurus Rex instead of T. Rex.

@@benjitz1 iv been trying to find out exactly when steve took stopped all music input with marc , i know he did a few live shows at the end of 69. Im changing title to Mickey Finn. as im now 99.9 % sure its him.

i wish i could help i got it from a torrent and its not easy to upload yt is out of the question btw i did upload it to yt then it got took down . its the most thing i get asked about and the comment section was controversial. some loved it others hated it , but that potter for you.

Tyranosaurus Rex is one of the best bands out there. Trex was an ok rock band. I get why Peel was disappointed.

Agreed, but if Marc just stayed Tyran, he wouldn't have been able to get across to the masses. Mr. Bolan told a story, from My People to Dandy. He was a genius, in writning ,musically and spirituality. There was something about Marc we will never comprehend. He was/is something ultra special.
