Just picked up one of these and it sounds amazing! Except for the loud popping sound that happens every time the tape loop passes over the play head. Is there a way to minimize the popping sound? Otherwise this will have to be returned which sucks since this thing sounds so good! Thanks for the great vid!
@@GeauxSaints121 i got 2 new tapes and the noise didn't change so Sweetwater sent me a replacement pedal. The noise is there but less loud. Just as of a few weeks ago it started in with a 2nd popping sound which is there even when the head is disengaged. On top of that it will sometimes not turn off when hitting the start/stop foot switch. So, this is looking like one of those pedals that just makes noises in every way. It really does sound great even with all of its popping and glitching. I will have to call SW on the newest problem of it not shutting off.
As it is now, this unit is somewhat useless as a live performance device, as the user must knee down to access the Long/Short delay heads. T-Rex needs to convert the Tap Tempo foot switch to Long/Short head select and implement a 1/4" input for an external Tap Tempo foot switch.
Believe it not, this works beautifully next to a Moog MF-104M. The tricky part is keeping the volume under control… the subtleties and analog tape artifacts just feel so righteous!
