This is why you're the best screen printing channel. No BS, no fluff. Taking the time to help everybody out is so generous.

I have one of the blue flash's and i did the external sensor upgrade, works perfect after that, few hundred flashes a day and no issues since upgrade. Also embrace the DTG, find a shop nearby that does good DTG prints and it'll blow you away haha

Yes Cam, I agree that for at home small run printing water based ink is better. But plastisol is more versatile. With that laser DTT printer it is something I am looking to add as I do a lot of short use promotional products and it also does sublimation printing. I know for my biz screen print is only a small part of what we do, but that video was enough for me to see it works for my use case. I am glad you are getting back in the swing of things.

regarding the fine line when exposing : when exposing the screen with a light source that has a somewhat limited area (like the led-based flood lights), the light sources behaves similar to a point light which likely causes the edge of your film to cast a narrow shadow on the screen, preventing the emulsion to cure. the closer the light is to the surface of your screen, the more you might see this effect. way around this could be reflective material on the inside of the exposure unit or more than one LED unit to ensure the UV light is hitting your screen from multiple angles or as straight on as possible. the tube-based exposure units have multiple tubes to achieve the more head-on, full area coverage.

I really want to build my own led/vacuum Lightbox. Do you have any tips? Or a video on how to do that? Or could you make one for us? I need to be able to burn halftones and in my opinion you are the most trusted source out there. Thanks for all your knowledge!

Hey, great videos. Always helpful. I built your $30 press. Do you have any tips on printing color on black shirts using that press?

I have a question. I want to try to figure out a budget to save to start my own business. I’m not yet ready to have my own spot, but I am almost ready to at least get up and running. My Arsenal is: 1. Circuit Air vinyl cutter 2. Circuit Easy press ( medium) 3. Speedball screen printing kit (the ones you can find at a local Hobby Lobby/Micheals) I was wondering what would I need next?

I coat my screens 2/2 and when I switched emulsion it went away. (The lines from the film on the screen)

Maybe most people begin with water-based ink because that's what retail art supply stores sell. To get plastisol ink I have to go to an industry supply house

Hi Cam! Any idea where I could buy adjustable tension springs? I built a 1-colour press following your $30 build and just need to add some springs to keep the screen from falling. Greatly appreciate any guidance you may have!

What is actually price for your shop management software? Went on your website and "try it for $20" was what I seen as far as price.

Baby powder on the shirt side of your screen will fix the film issue.

This is most likely a stupid question. Can you use a heat press to cure the ink? Not pressing it but hovering above it.
@a-bombx
@a-bombx 3 года назад
Never tried that Ricardo. Seems like it would take hours. Two other alternatives would be using a flash unit to cure or a heat gun.

Yes, works great... Put a sheet of parchment paper or Teflon sheet over your screen printed design press the shirt with medium pressure, at 320-350 for 10-15 seconds. Presto! And they are smooth as silk, they look great. Some shops finish their jobs with a quick heat press for the quality look and feel. Experiment with your time and temp to get your shirts dialed in further.
