Absolutely, drowning out the best part - is a total "bonehead" move; only RU-vid armatures: "click-baiters" do that stuff, lol Sofilein has way too much class and sensibility for that! : - )

Those are some damn heavy chess pieces to be moving about. Great work Ladies and gentlemen. RU-vid Music is also too often overdone. Sofilein''s voice is the only music this video needed. The tank engine sound is more part of the atmosphere. Our Hostess wisely lleft things mostly natural.

I suspect OEM GAC v12 parts are hard to come by. I suppose a different 650 hp aero-based V12 or commercial diesel might be adapted to fit but bet some obscure part would cost too much or used highly toxic materials.

As this shows a struggle on level cement pavement, I can well imagine how challenging it would be to retrieve a battle damaged vehicle out on the rough. Even if the tracks were in good shape, hills and mud would present a big challenge.

I expect that the typical recovery plan at the time for if one of these heavy tanks was stuck was to use a second one of these tanks to tow it.

The kinetic energy stored in a 60t MBT moving with 5km/h or 3 mp/h roughly is the same energy as ~2l Diesel fuel contain. But the diesel got burned in an engine with only ~33% efficiency, so you need at least to put 5l into the engine to get the that energy into the tank AND you also need to overcome the whole friction resistances of the threads and all the other moving parts AND it takes some time to get the tank up to 5 km/h, so overall it will take 5-10l of diesel to get a 60t tank to 5km/h. There is a reason, why a tank with over a metric ton of fuel capacity can only move 150km/ 100 miles through rough terrain...
@Ughmahedhurtz

2:40 "Why do you have to tow it so SLOW?" "Welp, when something that massive gets up a head of steam, it ain't exactly gonna stop on a dime, ya dig?" The sound of that track chewing on the tow bar is almost as cringe-inducing as watching someone drive a tank sideways down a steep grade. (Points if you know where that tends to lead.)

I agree, that M88 is just about the coolest anything I've seen. It looks like it's right out of The Thunderbirds. You could see when he was towing the first T29, he paused before the first turn, but then spun his tracks trying to get going again - leaving some awfully big black lines on the tarmac. Have you done a video on just the M88 on it's own? Or is that coming soon? I could watch that thing all day.

Does that M88 have a nickname? Most fellas have a name for there tow trucks! Remember Old Sam? Just curious. I know these kinda folk. Breakdowns..busted hydraulics. Sheared tow pints..there made to break..so it doesn’t hurt the vehicle. Of course....with this kinda break down...you can leave the vehicle...”with keys in it”. Nobody going to steal it. Make a fine lawn ornament. Or an interesting display on a hill. So everybody can see it! Looks great in the woods! Or parked in my front woods.put some bird food on the turret. They like that. Run a cord through the back.little internet ..lights...a little food...a pretty girl.bottle of wine....Or a museum..I suppose. Just don’t use it for target practice....unless it’s paint balls. Or Oddballs..76mm paint balls. “We Have our own special ammunition..It makes pretty colors.....Scares the Hell Out of Them!”
