@phantomstrike1 Soviet tank crews quickly learned that really nasty trick - placing one tank track over a foxhole and then letting the tank make a 360° turn on the spot, thus crushing/burrying the soldiers in that foxhole alive.

"It´s the popovs!! The popovs are coming!!" Germans in WWII called the russians "popovs", as a derogatory term. It´s the name of a cheap brand of vodka, which was seemingly found on many a russian conscript´s corpse, plus most russian names end in ´ov´. That´s something i remember from reading Sven Hassel´s books, many years ago. He served in the russian front as a tank driver in a panzer disciplinary unit. His books were some of the best WWII novels ever written.
@@MrDgo4life From the front they were typically aimed at the mantlet as well as the turret ring, and were more often than not successful at jamming the turret (and even blowing apart the eternal electronics) and when penetrating the gun mantlet would severely damage sensitive operating systems for the main gun, much less injuring or killing the tightly packed crew within. So, it was pretty effective from all angles of attack, it's short range range is really the main disadvantage of the Faust.

Most of all, I admire such people who are able to sit without visible discomfort and without warm clothes in winter on the cold armor of a tank, which at the same time goes fast.
Even better: German girl: "Hey won't you come to Berlin?" Red army soldier: "Can't, I'm shooting down german soldiers" "My husband isn't home" "I know"
Probably would end up stationary and with fault codes or something always broken. And ad-blue + all the electronics. Really could you imagine? Going from a design that with fresh fuel/oil and unstuck pistons and valves will just work. To change that to a design where emissions force unreliability built also with a bunch of weak plastic made out of said emission harmful material. Even just a turbo on the Russian tanks was a step into the problem zone. Full blown electronics and injectors would make it a big steel door stop. It would not be combat ready. Even demonstrators or whatever can make a dead T 34 run. The design and reliability it unmatched to anything modern. A modern engine would need so much work to even think to start on a good day. Computer not working? Not going anywhere sunshine.

Well, chance would be good then that you see this tank bursting into flames. The Red Army lost, depending on the sources, between 1.600 and 2.000 tanks, while the germans lost between 250 and 350 tanks. Also, the Red Army lost _a lot_ more men then the Wehrmacht.
