T34 - Will this tank ever climb back to greatness? | World of Tanks 

I still do remember when T34 was first introduced as premium tank. WG introduced it as a tank that can make 100k+ profits per match. T34 and IS6 were metas back then. Then we know what happened, they started to introduce op premium tanks and nerfed credit income for premium tanks and these beasts eventually started gain dusts on garage.

He finally did it lol. Those comments were so weird haha

This was my first premium ever bought after playing wot for about 1,5yrs... I recently decided to finally 3 Mark it, and boy what a mirror playing this tank now to show what had become of the WoT in the 8 years since i have bought it.. Although its so incredibly underpowered compared to the recent premiums, it will still have a special place in my heart.

I still remember playing it at tier IX vs IS-4, amazing gun back then. Then getting it as free premium when I could only dream of having one, 1500 battles in it and ~3k WN8 before I quit in 2016... good old times... shame it's in that state right now :(

Back in the days I played T34 and FCM quite some to grind credits, but for some reason with similar combined dmg the T34 made a lot more credits. To me T34 is a weaker version of the T30 and T34 used to be one of the 1st T9 heavies if I'm not mistaken.

My 1st premium. Owned it since it was regular t9 HT. Now after recent buff it's quite nice tank to play. One of the old guard who can fight back.

3 classics T34,Löwe,IS-6

Whenever I got a T34 ally, I always assume its already a -1. It's tier8, and ALL its parameters tell you that it can't contribute much to the game. Not many decent players play it nowadays. Good for the player using it for saving credits, respect, tho.

For me this tank is held back by the past and what I mean by that is when tanks have actual real life stats, that they can't tweak to rebalance it. No magical autoloader, No "proposed" armor thickness, No "proposed" engine, "discontinued during drafting stages" or "only existed in blueprints". It was a real tank but it's now outclassed by the newer tanks but WG can't do anything because they can't magically buff the tank.

I think preferential MM would make this tank so much more enjoyable

I got this thing to .29 accuracy and it still misses. You feel it so much more when your turret armor consistently fails and your reload is 11.18 at best

The tank needs way better gun handling to even have a slight chance to become meta material again. Good base pen doesn't mean shit if you can't hit targets reliable or get the bloom of the year if you wiggle the gun even a bit. A bit more speed would also help.

T34 today should be a tank with tier limit. A t7 hull with an awful turret, low dpm and speed is just bad. And yes, the turret of the T34 today is just weak..

I suppose one of the reasons WG released a new American heavy tank line is that everyone knows the old one is crap in the current meta. Lots of people are playing the Yoh tanks now, but how long will that last and how long until the secret stats get nerfed on them? That's kinda how it usually works.

Personally I would play this tank with the same set up that I use on the T29, Vstabs, Turbo (in mobility slot), and rammer. Of course the T29 at tier 7 does not get access to a mobility slot so I use an upgraded bounty turbo to get 40 forwards and 15 reverse.

My last straw was getting penned straight in the forehead by regular ap from same levels while playing hull down. In conjunction with horrible gun handling and speed that did it for me. Old buddy goes in the shed and meets the trade-in

I quit the game more than five years ago and I feel relieved and every time youtube recommended me to watch any WOT videos Makes me very sure of how very right my decision to leave the game was But I must admit, the game was very good in the past

I had the chance to exchange it, but I kept it because it’s quite good for making credits when I need. And in a way I love it, even if it doesn’t perform well these days, it’s my first premium tank that I bought.

Got t34 when it was in us heavy line, my favorite tanks but now I didn’t play with t34 for 2 years. Wargaming forgot about it. 😞

I still like this tank. Its nothing special but it has something that for me in wot is a must. It actually hits shots. This tank atleast for me is laser accurate, and with the high pen i can go through anything RELIABLY. I agree its not that good but as a support heavy, eventually hull down, its still a beast

I agree t34 needs a bit more mobility anda bit more gun handling. You must must wait to be fully aim to make this gun works, otherwise shells fly everywhere. Aim time is quite long.

I paid 20 or 25M for T34 B on black marked. Worst busines of my life.

Not unlike many others here, the T34 was my 1st premium. I took a break from the game of roughly 4 years and when I came back this tank was terrible. Sure, you can make credits with this tank, but there are much better options that will make you a lot more credits like the Lowe, Tornvagn or T26E5. The T34 is waaaaaaaaaay too slow and the gun handling isn't very good so really, you will lose credits in comparison to other premium heavies.

If you're using premium consumables for +10% crew skill, you can swap ventilation for turbo. I don't know why you'd give up stabilizer instead of vents.

I got it for free back in the days. My first and only premium tank for a very long time. I liked to play with it. But now it is horrible. I could live with the sluggish travelling but the gun handling drives me crazy. You aim an hour, you have to wait 13-14s for reload and what is the result? You miss the shot. But I won't sell it because of emotional reasons. It reminds me when this game was good. And as usual, the 25% rng hits this tank very hard. T28 proto has the same gun. And how much better that tank is. Because the gun has the correct stats on it.

The T34 will always have a special place in my heart. It was the 3 premium tanks (the other being Lowe and IS-6) I ever bought in the tank all those years back. Now the trio of heavies are just sitting in my garage collecting dust. It had a very good gun in the past. The only problem back then was its hull armour because speed wasn't an issue before 2016. Fast forward when I came back to play the game in 2020, its speed and weak hull armour means it is death. Yup. That's Wargaming for you.

Maybe it needs new Alpha , like 430 and also a better engine and It would be fine

This tank should not be seeing T10 matchmaking, if they dropped it into preferential category so it only sees T9s, it could become relevant again

This was my very first premium tank as I initially started playing the American heavies 9 or so years ago. It's a terrible tank but I still have it for crew training purposes although I almost never use it. Now I'm just thinking of trading it in for something else as it would be a nice 5200g to get there tbf.

I disagree with the effect of slapping a turbo on it. It enables you to actually get into some of the positions, you weren't able to before. For example the lighthouse map with the greek music you are doomed to be in the basin of death if you aren't using turbo.

I recommend to never underestimate the power of T34, it still has 400 alpha, it still has armor, it still can punish you

I started playing in 2011 and this was my 2nd premium tank. I still play it, but it is terribly hard to play, terrible aiming and loading time, armor is total shit for heavy tank

The biggest problem of this game is matchmaking, the game is unplayable if you play tier 8 vs tier 10. And I have this kidn of games every sesond battle, once vs tier 9 and then tier 10. After 40 games I was once as a top tier... How stupid is that.

The problem I have with the T34 is the damn gun penetration value. It absolutely does NOT function as if it had 248. When i play it, it penetrates more like i would expect from the T29 but a little bit better. Seriously, it bounces off of ANYTHING with any kind of serious armor. Most of the time that is. Then suddenly you get a good game with it and it penetrates literally EVERYTHING like it actually HAD that 248. It's weird. Oh, and the armor is similar, far too often you don't bounce ANYTHING with it even hulldown because everyone and their uncle just autohits the cupola even when you're at max gun depression and it shouldn't be possible, and then suddenly you have a game where you're hulldown and this sucker bounces even tier 10 shots. Again, it is REALLY weird. And the fact that variability for gun accuracy is absolutely horrible does not help when gunhandling is ALSO pisspoor. I got mine to behave halfdecently by putting both Vstab and Rotation mechanism on it, but the fact that i MUST use those just to get any kind of performance out of it is really terrible. Put Turbo and grousers on and it's much more fun to play with until you have to try shooting anything. Put optics on and focus on positions where you can also spot from and whenever the armor holds, it's great. Put safety gear on and it becomes much more acceptable in regards to survivability. Put loader and aiming device and its firepower becomes quite decent... The problem is you only have room for ONE setup, and that it would need pretty much ALL of them to actually become a good tank. Because as it is, it just isn't very good. The rare few times it works, it can be quite fine, but usually it doesn't. Heck, this is one of the tanks, one of the FEW tanks, i've done my Strv "special" on! Basically, close quarters combat with a Strv-S1, whenever he turns the turret just enough, you go mobility move and drive around on the other side, wait until he commits turret enough, drive back and go into shooting position and detrack him again. It's insane but against tanks like this, it can be made to work(grousers and the driver skills for increased rate of turning are needed though, or they might be able to catch you, especially if you need to turn around and change which side you're hitting the target from). And it's very funny to see their comments afterwards since so few will use the S1 at close range or even offensively at all.

As i say on FORUM.Make T34 premium TD...give it +300dpm boost,camo boost,gunhandling boost and nerf -150/200 hp. Problem solved and US line gain TD crew XP vehicle.

Man, back 10 years ago was a gem, now it's nothing but a pice of can anything can drill! I got so frustrated with it I sold it, can buy it back but don't even wanna look at it in a garage anymore!

At this point in the game, they just need to revert it's stats back to before they nerfed it. Terrain resistance, turret traverse, gun handling. If they just reverted it's stats it'd be so much more usable and enjoyable like it was back when it was the T9 heavy. I've had mine since they handed it out for free when they changed to the M109 and T110 and it used to be fun back then.

This is the tank my friend told me to get for my first Tier 8 premium in 2017. I'll never let him live that one down. This tank is HORRIBLE - especially when as a newer player.

I have this tank, but can't remember when I last played it. Yes the gun hits hard, when it hits, but that's about it. The only thing this tank is any good for now, is making credits, as long as you win. GenFUBAR. 1AR, ANZ/HK (ASIA) Server.

The Renegade and TS5 outshine the T34. I enjoy playing it but the gun handling goes in part with how wargaming used to release balanced tanks. The hull is garbage unfortunately and mobility leaves a lot to be desired.

I got this thing for free. Today, it really sucks, but free is free and I have gotten so much mileage out of it.

Back in the day this tank had the highest alpha for a tier 8 heavy, best pen, decent accuracy and even mobility was average. Nowadays.... Uiuiuiui About the 1/2 line on Lakeville, i avoid it for the same reasons I avoid certain heavy tank locations. This "i am hull down, you are hull down, now let's spam prem at each other hoping for a high roll or hit the cupola" gameplay is just waste of credits and time. Even more so when you are open for arty, then it becomes even more stupid.

The overall nerf of the T34 through time and power creep is part of the reason I left the game. Same with the IS6, FCM, even the scorpion has been nerfed from what it was.

I liek to play with this tank, however one of the most disturbing weakness are the other palyers in the game. This tank is not a heavy tank. It's "head" is, but not the tank itself. You can't go forward and block the hits, because even a tier 6 tank can penetrate you. But players can't udnerstand it... Players will balme you if you are not a suicider rambo in this tank etc. And it's very disturbing.

the T34 isnt a bad tank, its actually very balanced. the real problems is that all the newer tanks are unbalanced. its been severely power crept and isnt very relevant in today's gameplay that wargaming has created.
