Great help, Had my T4 15 years and doing door roller job and could not see if old roller went back or forward to remove, this was a great help mate. Yeah grease idea bad! its operating in an area collecting crap and would shorter life as the rubbish particles stick and foul new roller. Thanks again for good old RU-vid.
I just did this job on a mates van, managed to get the new roller in from the front of the rail so there was no need to remove the step or the stopper.
Simply undo the roller and move it as far forward (towards front of van) as it will go. It will release from the rail. Pay attention to how it comes out and you will have no trouble fitting the replacement.
@DERBYSAM No worries. I just replaced the bottom roller, on the same van for the same person, a few weeks ago. This time it took about 2 minutes. Glad to hear it saved you some time.
Thank you! I’m not sure why not, but I know they came from the factory with no grease, so they are designed to just roll freely. Mine is still working perfectly fine and I haven’t used any grease. Good luck!
