Just played Jin (always mained him and Kaz) in T5 on my ps2 after playing him in T7 on PC and it was a huge pain in urethrae.

There was a mode in this game, where you'll be matched against AI and beating them will increase the rank of your played character. The thing is, you can defeat everybody in that mode with just two moves using Jin. That long kick and that one two punch by pressing the punches button simultaneously

my head canon for this has been that since jin is fighting against being overtaken by the devil gene the whole time in tekken 5, i guess it can explain how weak he is, but then he starts to gain control by the time he reaches Jinpachi.

Lows in Virtua Figter 5 FS are normally -3 on hit. There are very few lows that grant plus frames on hit in that game.

Tekken 5 is my favourite Tekken series till date. I must agree Jin Kazama in Tekken 5 is terrible after being a great fighter in Tekken 4. Glad his better in Tekken 6 onwards.

I mained t5 Jin and he always had issues, especially with juggles. The only way to get a decent advantage was to stagger with parries. His 10 hit combo also had too many gaps for miss/block.

Will you be talking about T5DR? This was the first tekken game many people played online and it would be interesting to see how they addressed issues from T5.0

I wanna know what was the reason replacing the lazer scraper with this version of the move. It cant be cause devil jin came back amd took the old move set cause jin still uses alot of the classic moves, just different inputs like the foward 3 spinkick for example. Now it's just up 3. I dont get it. They didn't need to change it

I think Jin actually wasn't so bad in tekken 5. I agree with that one combo move (downback + 2, 2, 3) but Jin had so many secret moves that wasn't listen in his move list! for example: You could use mental alertness by pressing (down + 1 + 2) after certain moves. [gives you counter and +2 damage] Mental alertness (2) had bonus moves that also wasn't listed. you could use (forward, forward+3) with the Mental alertness (2). back+1, forward+3 and back+1, forward+4 :)

i've been playing a lot on my PSP with Jin in DR, taking him to Divine Fist and i just realized how bad he was in this game, super limited compared to 6 onwards.

Jin in Tekken 5 is still a monster because of his parry and his ws2. My friend ducks my high almost everytime and ws2. His main launchers are hopkick his electric 1 and ws2 but he parries to a cancan too. He mostly utilize his EWGF when my back is behind the wall.

2nd impact sean got nerfed pretty hard too. idk who got it worse, sean or jin.

Kinda surprised that you didn’t mentioned Jin’s CD1 in T5. T4 Jin’s CD1 was a side-step knockdown punch, but in T5, it has become a launching uppercut, similar to the Mishima’s EWGF, except it was weaker ofc. In T6, TT2 and T7, Jin’s CD1 also had an electric version but it still isn’t fully safe.

But i liked playing jin in T5. I owned people at arcades back in the day with him. Albeit i think my opponents were just casuals or trash, but i still beat them with jin.

Tekken 7 Jin is how he should stay, he's difficult to pick up and honestly he's difficult to master as well but he's incredibly good, not broken or overpowered or anything, he's just a great character, in Tekken 5 Jin was a crippled imposter of what he was in Tekken 4 and what he is in the games to follow, he's so damn slow in this game, he wasn't necessarily fast in Tekken 4 but he had broken moves to make up for it, here he was slowed down and nerfed beyond belief, sometimes when I play the older Tekken's, Tekken 3, Tekken 4, when I play those versions of Jin and I go back to Tekken 7 he feels stiff, but when I look at him in Tekken 5 he's pretty much suffering from arthritis or something, everything's slow, everything's weak and well, just watch the video, it's explained pretty damn well. I think Jin should have a means of parrying closer to how he did in Tekken 3, but the rest is fine I think, since they gave the rest to Devil Jin so that Jin isn't a copy of every other Mishima, the rest of his moves are fine though I just miss being able to time a parry and be rewarded with some damage, unless it was countered which should never be a thing, you already risked so much to get that parry, so when it gets countered it's just really annoying, his parry nowadays is kinda useless to be honest, I know that a TAS can use his parry endlessly after one successful parry but that's not humanly possible making his current parry almost useless, his gimmick should be his zenshin and mental awareness, the parry doesn't need to be there anymore, if it does it should be how it was in Tekken 3, I know Paul still has that parry so if Jin had it I really don't think it would be that game breaking. Also does anyone know which Tekken game Lee was actually pretty good in? As in when was Lee in his prime? I know he's actually decent in Tekken 5, but I just want to know because Lee never seems to be on the radar for some reason.

I feel really bad because in this game I was Tekken Lord with Jin, when I played Tekken 7 With real people online I was enraged cause I couldn't pass 1 Dan thought that I was not that bad, I thought that they must have nerfed him or something, against my friends I was an "Assassin" but after Tekken 7 I realized how much I suck at the game, and my friends, poor guys.....I wish that the AI in this was much better to avoid my painful rude awake.....

Could it be that when he transformed in Devil it took away all his coolness and Devil Jin stole the swag and technique?

I think Tekken5 was a balanced game everyone is almost equal nit like Tekken7 some are extremely powerful sone are totally nerfed
