Hi Tony, you made the adjustment beautifully 👍 I hate the switches on the back, sometimes it is not possible to add a switch to the panel and that is why I have sockets with remote shutdown from the test panel in the workshop. Fortunately, today Incremental N-encoders are used on a simple two-track principle, so you only select the size, suitable shaft, button option and the number of cycles per revolution as needed. The number of tacts per revolution can greatly affect the controllability of the device, if the controller counts on multiple pulses per command, then in the case of using an N-coder with a small number of tacts per revolution, we wring our hands before switching something. In the case that each cycle has an impulse and we use many cycles per revolution, we have the opposite problem - we are almost unable to set the correct value, especially when the N-coder wears out. If I leave out optical or capacitive N-coders, it was produced (I guess it was a German system) so-called rocker, it had 6 terminals and in principle there were two switching and opening contacts inside which, when rotating with the shaft, the internal rocker mechanism switched alternately - a classic incremental N-coder this type was irreplaceable. Upgrading the terminals was also the first thing I did on my EBD-A20H. However I can't remember anything about 4mm plugs not fitting well. I also have no problems with my encoder or the knob. I also don't think the menu structure behind the encoder is difficult or cumbersome, but my unit only discharges of course. I also already use it for about 6 years now (I had to look that up, time flies... 😉) so I guess I'm used to it 😁
Yes i think they changed the terminals at some point. my encoder was crab. The menu, you can get use to for sure. but combined with that bad encoder , needed a change
