Taapsee Pannu is known to be a fiercely dynamic woman. In fact, in her latest film, she embodies the role of Mithali Raj to the point because she believes in the same thought process. For the third season of Her Story on Bollywood Bubble, we finally have Taapsee joining our host Nayandeep Rakshit for a conversation. While Taapsee has come a long way and made her presence felt, thanks to a few consistent good performances, there's a few -isms she has been battling continuously. From casual sexism to rampant pay disparity, from battling hero worship to being shamed for her appearance, she has seen it all. In this candid chat, she reminisces those days when she was rejected for a role for her looks. "They said you're not good looking enough to be a heroine," she tells us. She also narrates a shocking incident down South where a hero made the film team change her lines despite her constant disapproval. While today, she has catapulted herself to the big league, she reveals that at one point, she wasn't respected at the awards - wasn't even nominated for Pink and of course, asked to sit on the third row despite the first two rows being empty. Her journey is very inspiring with the opportunities she got, she made it successfully work. Also for her to pull the audience she talks about her journey, Thappad is my one of the most fav movie.

The fact that her experience and her side of a story seems very biased to bollywood or arrogant to people in cmts is actually a problem...it's not targeting south and all...she have actually faced that so she is saying there r times when actors like radika apte also had problems aishwarya alia etc have said good things abt south industries as well..there is both gd bad which people face everywhere ...talking abt it is nthg wrong ....

but experiences are different for every actress na..aishwarai had faced difficulties in both professional and personal durind mid 2000s in bollywood..but she has always a warm welcome in south..same goes with tapsee...or any other actress..i dont think she is biased towards bollywood..she just got the oppurtunity in which she wants to do..

Tapsee you need to talk about your work. I think you'll be taken seriously when you stop pointing fingers at so many people. She is always like nobody expected that I'll do well...I'm not supported.. one actor said this.. one actor did this.. I was treated as indifferent... Then you are switching to bragging about yourself.

If you had problem during shoot why didn't you highlight it during the shoot? Yes you would be removed what's wrong it. It is more about self belief and self respect Now because you got some fame and money saying about south cinema it's hypocrisy only. Also about equal payment you show 40cr opening back to back definitely you'll be paid like male. It's foolishness to talk about it

To be paid same as any male Bollywood actor, you need to have strong audience pulling capability. Unfortunately, not many female actors are capable of that. For makers the movie should generate money. And that's exactly why you were forced to change dialogue as per hero's demand. Coz he's the one who's bringing audience to the theater. Sexist? Yes. Unfair? Yes. But the day you can bring same level of audience to the theater, they will fall in line. Secondly, Taapsee you're an okay actor. I watched Badla. It was a difficult watch for me. It was a scene by scene faithful remake. But you lacked emotion and it was boring to watch your performance. Work on your acting skills. I am no actor. But I understand when a performance feels natural and authentic.

Exactly. Tapsee suddenly after doing Pink, Badla and Thappad, she feels she can question the makers abt scripts , male co actors , technical crew and point fingers at South industry actors.. she then switches to sob stories about her rejections. She needs maturity.

@@Antsfist You know it almost feels like Bollywood is using her to try and defame South Industry? Honestly this is probably 4th or 5th time I am seeing her talk about exact same topics. I have seen only one Telugu movie in which she acted opposite Prabhas. She was better in that compared to Hindi movies. Does she think male actors in Bollywood don't influence the movie? The heroes get a say even in selecting heroines. It's not specific to South or Bollywood.. Even Hollywood has the issue. I remember she once talked about obsession in South film industry over navel show. But isn't it present even in Bollywood? Every item song is like that 🤷🏻‍♀️

@@kalpana90 not just bollywood, it's specifically this interviewer nayan, every interview with an actress who worked in telugu/tamil films, he tries to stir something up about "south industry" or "south actors" like, c'mon, it's 2022. Yes, I agree, Mahesh Babu or Prabhas would never play a supporting character in a film, but doesn't the same happen in Bollywood as well? Goodness.

@@mujcfghvSee, it's upto audience who they love watching. SRK, Salman,etc have hard-core fan base who will watch no matter what. Such core base form almost 30% of audience. They have been in the industry for years. So naturally they will go. Then there are 30-40% who will go to see a movie based on hype. If it's a movie like Dhoom 3, you won't know its not a good movie from outside. By the time, you realize, you have already paid and you're watching it. Then you have 15% who are genuinely movie lovers who don't mind who's acting; as long as they find it interesting, they will watch it. Rest 5% either won't watch or wait for online release 🤷🏻‍♀️ Audience make the movie hit or flop. It's not patriarchy. It's all about who you love watching on screen! For me, if trailer is interesting- I'll watch it. If I binge watch Ram Charan movies, I have watched November Story web series with Tamannah in lead and no male actor.

When Akshay Kumar doesn't put any effort everyone trolled him but now when she put so much of effort and it's such a great performance, people are trolling her for Box Office.
