I agree about the interviewer, judging by her voice I assume she's a young woman and it's nice to hear a young person being so knowledgeable about an older star's career and the people he co-starred with.

I’m delighted to find your comment re-“The Pleasure of His Company”, one of my favourite films too. Lili Palmer really does hold it all together and her timeless beauty and charm still delight but I wonder why she and Tab did not get along?

I just watched this film yesterday too and I loved it!! He definitely played his part very well and like you said you can't help being sad for him, I mean I am a 32 year old woman pretty much like Linda Darnell in this film and I can't imagine to fall in love with a 20 year old boy so I understand her point of view, but at the same time I felt for him because he is so nice and innocent and very much in love with her, the way he said at the end of the film that he was born too late broke me in pieces but I think It was the final was well done and It was common sense

He only has a one - quite funny - scene in The Loved One, so its more of a cameo.

This fella was hiding out in the closet all through his Hollywood years! A very mediocre and forgettable actor !! That’s why he made his gay life known in his book!! Needed the $$$$

The interviewers voice was never intended to be heard. If you watch TCM you see little vignettes between films where an actor shares memories of films and costars. That's what this is.

She also obviously doesn't listen to what he is saying. He had just explained how Linda Darnell helped him when they worked together, then she asked, "How did Linda Darnell help you in the role?"

That does not mean he was a mean person. He was rude to me when I served him and could not have cared less when I told him I was as fan.
