15:36 Lol. i love how Jay Berhalter's defenders were saying that he was not the one getting into technical decisions and selecting of coaches, and that all he did was select a technical director like Earnie but Ramos confirms that Jay does get into things.

The Chicago rule is so stupid. I like how the media always calls the fans toxic because of our opinions. Here you have someone who was working in USSF saying the USSF turned toxic.

The "media" should be completely disregarded. This is not only a US problem. As a long time viewer of the EPL, the favoritism shown English players and the vitriol given to foreign players by the Brexit media is crazy.

Blaming the fans is the ultimate red flag that a sports organization is beyond incompetent and failing badly. We'd be hard-pressed to find soccer decisions that a fan has ever been responsible for.

The US Soccer Federation is a study in incompetence, nepitism, and ego getting in the way of whats best for the players, coaches and supporters.

the massive "non-answer-statement" for the reaction to GGG's hire, makes me wonder how bad his reaction actually was lol

Jay and the commercial side. Who's making these decisions and why? Finally someone wants to discuss the biggest elephant in the room. Let's start with Nike and what their narrative and sports direction has been for for the last decade and their influence over everything US Soccer. Chicago? Who made that decision and why? Your just starting to scratch the surface. Great job with part 1 of this interview.

Nice job Pete. I understand that there's a limit of how far the former players and coaches will go in criticizing the current regime, but I think it was pretty easy to read between the lines here. I especially enjoyed calling out the absurdity of Chicago and the emphasis on pointing out Jay was commercial side.

For me, this was one of the great interviews I have seen concerning the USMNT especially the history. Being an old guy who hung out in the Kearny, NJ area, this helped revive memories of how great a small area of NJ was in soccer. Thanks. PS Little known fact: Tony Meola, goalie and sometimes forward, was drafted by the NY Yankees...also an ok basketball player!

Tab Ramos USMNT head coach: would change the culture! You remember the 94 UsA World Cup??! That team was the team that made me fall in love with Football! Underdogs that kicked up! And would not back down, they were hanging with Brazil until Tab was Illegally elbowed and given brain damage! The way they played is something we haven’t even come close to in terms of American soccer… except under Klinsmann! Who Tab was asst for… like with Tab we get Tim Howard being the GK coach… and we get Lalas being the Asst! We get a culture of Passion and Resilience and Grit! American Football with technical skills. From the players he raised! As adults… it’s a no-brainer and hence why it wouldn’t happen.

What's wrong with our system can be summed up by the fact that Christian Pulisic (our best player to date) was "discovered" by Tab Ramos when he happened to be coaching at a tournament and saw him play, who then alerted US Soccer about this phenomenally talented kid he just saw. Until that point, CP was nowhere on the national youth scene and was just another "kid on their list"...because all we care about "developing" in our system are the big, fast, strong kids --- skills be damned.

It is stupid rule from US soccer to required coach to be reside in Chicago. Don't they know that we have internet now with Zoom and more? If they need a meeting, they can instantly, even coach live anywhere.

Sad that politics have played such a factor in US Soccer. With this level of back stabbing, cronyism, and turf wars...it's easy to see why we have struggled to make actual progress in the international game.
