But, for a small tabla maker, an overpaying customer was a life changing experience, because a friend of ours tested the tabla for which I overpaid, and he liked it so much, that he's playing that very tabla in his studio sessions. And as a result, an unknown, small shop tabla maker has sold over 300 tabla sets by recommendation of a professional studio artist. Stupid? I don't think so, because Raju Bhai, the tabla maker, not only gifted me a free tabla, but promised me that whenever I need a tabla, it will always be free for me.
