That's just how sports work. Every one. Maybe some exceptions concerning physical aspects in sports like darts or chess. They still work hard and spend a lot of time trying to improve.
Even in athletic, there is one start and one finish. But here in Table Tennis, every stroke has a start and finish, especially when you play attacking strokes. Hence, TT is a hardest sport ever.
Cedrik Thibert Honestly, by what standard do you judge? :) I like sports that pit competitors directly against each other. You need at least some brains to spar each other, in dealing with those interactions, unlike racing sports like swimming, track and field, etc...I am not saying they don't use brains, but it's totally unlike how you do in ping pong, badminton, tennis and squash, etc... There are obviously less interactions in racing...I don't have a "hardest" sport but Gymnastics is definitely real hard. It takes a really long time to master and possibly is life-threatening!
Cedrik Thibert I think there are much more dangerous sports than mountain hiking too. Sailing is no laughing matter. Try desert hiking. :) Parachuting is rather dangerous too, lots. But, is difficulty of those sports merely judged upon the degree of dangers inherent in them? Bullfighting is also dangerous, How about base jumping? Many, many... :) Of course, to touch on something completely different, let's not forget chess. Honestly, I think it's hard to judge which sport is the hardest... haha!
Saying that table tennis is the hardest sport is exaggerating. When it comes to getting a gold medal in Olympics, there no such thing as the hardest sport. If it's not at professional level, in my oppinion, a hard sport would be those that an average person could hardly participate in, say gymnastics, high dive and marathon. Thus table tennis is easy since it's one of the few sports that kids and elders can involve.
